i tell ya what, had it not been for the slow start in the earlier games this month we would be on a pretty nice win streak, ottawa is free falling, and it appears were starting to regain our form from earlier this year, im getting pretty excited, everyone is scoring, anyone else think were starting to roll or is this just another tease, im slowly starting to believe again!....LETS GO SABRES!

Man, I really hope they've truly 'righted the ship', this is the perfect time to get some good momentum going into the playoffs. Imagine it, Pomminville, Hecht, Connolly, Roy, maybe Stafford and Vanek really getting their games going at the right time COULD turn this team into a serious contender. I think if we really play with 4 lines at a high level we'll make a deep playoff run. |

Vanek Roy Kennedy is a really solid line. Kennedy can finally spread his wings a little and put that tenacity that was clearly bottle-necked at center on the 3rd and 4th lines to work, plus I think winger is his natural position.... right? Anyone else notice he's been quite the little stick handler these last few games with Roy and Vanek? Vanek is a talented, bigger player with a good head on his shoulders, but he's slow and really needs two feisty, faster players to help both get the puck to him, and give him players to get into good position to dish the puck to. And Roy is Roy, as long as he doesn't try to get too pretty, he's one of the best players on the team. I think Vanek and Kennedy are talented enough to keep him interested and keep him from trying to do everything on his own. Hecht Connolly Pominville has been really good too. I think a lot of our success hinges on if this line can stay as hot as they are now... which is honestly a pretty big if. Other than Connolly, the other 2 can go hot and cold offensively at the snap of the fingers. The rest of the lines are most of the players who we really just need to not be afraid to finish checks, keep the energy up and play solid defensively, and they usually are quite capable of that... plus a little offense from time to time. Just my 2 cents. I think we look great right now.

i think in order for me to fully believe theyll have to take at least one of the ottawa games coming up, preferably at home |

Wins against Tampa Bay, Florida, and Carolina with a rookie goalie in net that let in some softies today... 1) They deserve these wins because everybody gets to play bad teams a few times...unless you're Washington and can play bad teams all season long. 2) No matter what team you beat, it's good to get rolling since so much of playing well depends on building confidence. It doesn't really matter how you get it. 3) Despite 1 and 2, we really aren't going to know where they're at until they beat some decent and desperate teams during the last two weeks. Ottawa, Boston, NJ, Montreal and NY are going to be giving everything they have down the stretch, and Buffalo will have to match it. |
