I have to admit, I am very impressed with this line.
Vanek on the RW? Is this correct? If so, what are your thoughts on his performance?

Kennedy, I mean, this kid looks like he completes that line.
Thoughts?

Also, my projection is each one of these players go 30+ goals and 75+ points next season. What is your take?

If Ruff keeps them together I can see all three players getting over 70 points.

I called it in the GDT to never break them up, they click well, and I think Kennedy is the RW on that line. But doesn't matter, Kennedy, Roy, and Vanek can all pass each other the puck and make a tremendous rush.

If this line stays intact, we have two pretty dangerous scoring lines now, and with Roy and Kennedy on a line it is also a great defensive line. Heck both lines play good two way hockey as it is already. Even *gasp* Vanek.

I love it I love it I love it.

I've been calling for Kennedy on wing for a long time now.

It's the perfect union of speed and grit.

I think Ruff has been bouncing Kennedy and Vanek from wing to wing. Either way, they all look great together.

I think it's just a better desire with Kennedy on that line, he brings in much needed speed and determination than Stafford does.

And a much improved forecheck over Stafford.

This is my favorite line, I love watching them on the ice.

2 skill lines, 2 grit lines, and 4 lines of scoring and 2-way playing. I'll take it!

I love that line a lot.

If they stay together, Roy and Vanek both get 30+ goals, and Kennedy will have a breakout, 40-50 point year.

What I like about this line so much, as I previously stated, is that Kennedy gives his line a very strong forechecking presence. He has no fear when it comes to trying to get over the blueline at any cost to establish zone presence, and it works to Roy's (who is a fancy playmaker that creates room for himself...or tries to) and Vanek's (who has a sick one-timer when set up properly) advantages.

Agreed, Phil.

One of my biggest reasons for not liking Kennedy at center is the fact that it takes away one of his biggest assets, which is his ability to get in on the forecheck really quick and recover the puck.

I love watching Kennedy pushing and shoving after the play. It's funny because he is so small and young, he's like the little punk who tries to start crap with everyone. I get him and Roy mixed up sometimes because they're both so small on the ice.

Oh shit, I love when Kennedy is the first to get his lumber up when dickery starts after the whistle.

Bouncing Vanek and Kennedy between RW and LW, and bouncing Kennedy from line 4 to either line 1, 2, 3(or any other combinations) at this point in the season isn't a good idea. The coach has to pretty much have his lines set at this time when the team has been healthy. I hope we don't go line juggling right into the playoffs.

Well, the line goes like this - Kennedy/Roy/Vanek. No bouncing. No juggling. Just chemistry to be formed.

Very acceptable. Voltron is assembled, now let him go kick ass. No need to disassemble him.

Kennedy- effort/doesn't give up..
Roy- hands..
Vanek- traffic/tipping in front of net..

They all have different styles, but it's workin.. For now.. Maybe well keep the same #1 line for the playoffs, for once..

Shouldn't a line be all completely different styles of play?

Would you want a line full of danglers? One full line of Passers only? How about a line full of Snipers?

You need to at least have a playmaker with a sniper, because who is going to pass the puck if you only have Snipers on a line?

And if you have a line full of just Grinders, like most NHL 4th lines are, you won't get much scoring out of them.

Kennedy and Roy are more of a playmaker type guys, and Vanek is the finisher. Roy can also finish but is still better at dishing the puck away. And hopefully Kennedy develops into a Roy-esque player who passes really well and can finish when needed.
