Basically, any prediction that have the Sabres out of the playoffs have me saying, "These predictions are bullshit..." but when there is a prediction about the team that is favorable, I say, "Sounds about right!"

Key additions: D Steve Montador, F Mike Greer. Key losses: D Jaroslav Spacek, D Teppo Numminen, F Maxim Afinogenov, F Dominic Moore. Player to watch: Goalie Ryan Miller rebounds from injury. The skinny: The pressure is on to get back to the playoffs after two years and they will do it with largely the same group, except they lost point man Spacek and acquired Montador. They have the goaltending to do it in a healthy Miller. There's a fine first-line pair in Derek Roy, Thomas Vanek, but too much underachievement the rest of the way." ...They have the Sabres behind some seriously douche teams...MUCH greater underacheivers, with chronic club-house and roster issues... Looks like Buffalo will be pegged as underdogs, according to this team of experts. Not a bad thing. |
