I personally think this could be the worst loss of the season. I expected so much from the team in this game after that no energy game against Toronto. I really thought the team would come out swinging, but they got shut out. Im pissed off! |

Nah, Miller and Montador were lying when they were critical of the team the other night, and I was a fool to believe them. |

Maybe Lindy should incorporate a group meditation into the nature walk next time. I'm sure some hand holding, song, and some hugs will work everything out. |

As long as they bring their A game in the playoffs, this loss doesn't mean much at all.. |

In all honesty, this was a playoff atmosphere game, and regardless of Ennis and Gerbe in place of Connolly and Vanek it is evidently cleary (as many have said on this board by the way) that this team is not quite there yet. By no means does this indicate this team cannot compete, but, I rather look at it as what myself and more than several others have been pointing to, screaming about (call it what you will) for the entire season. Quite simply put, this team had a chance to make some serious moves this season at the trade deadline to bring in the components to make a run, they choose not to do so. They have had a really good season, but are just about 3 pieces shy of competing. This is not to say all is lost. We are in the playoffs and anything can happen then, but they do have some serious holes in the lineup. Lets hold our heads up high and watch closely to see what transpires and what the off season brings. |

Rud wrote: Nothing another nature walk can't fix. I was thinking the same thing. Or I guess the players really didn't want to be on that walk. As much as I would like this team to do well. I just don't see us getting any further than the second round if we our lucky enough not to play Montreal or Ottawa in the first. |

Lets hold our heads up high and watch closely to see what transpires and what the off season brings. This team is a couple of years away and would have had to make serious moves at the deadline to bring in some talent that is needed. I don't know about you but this offseason should be very interesting and here's why. Tallinder and Lydman both unrestricted free agents. I don't know if this team can afford to lose both of them. Rivet this season hasn't really impressed me that much and looks like he is on the down swing. Drew Stafford I think needs a change of scenary or a giant swift kick in his ass because he's hasn't improved at all since being a regular. If Darcy is all about building thru the draft then why not trade our 1st and a player/pick or prospect to move up into the top ten. This team he's a big offensive player in the worst way. |

Montreal is also a much more desperate team, I mean the Sabres need one win to clinch the division. Montreal needs to keep winning to even clinch a playoff spot. Sure they should always play as hard as they can, but when you've had a playoff spot clinched for some time and you're so close to clinching the division, do you really need to play full out? I mean play the game well enough to give a decent chance of winning, but relax a bit, you're going into the playoffs already, but don't pack it in quite yet. Play simple hockey, no need for anything fancy or anything that could get you injured. |

With Montreal being a possible first round match up, you would think they would maybe they would come out and play physical set the tone. Nope just sat back all night hoping something would just go there way, doesnt work like that boys. |

Wow sky, I mean nothing personal in any way by this, but that is the epitome of a losing mentality. As far as sports go, that attitude is the reason why talented teams fall flat on their face under playoff pressure. Your logic is backwards too. The reason they lose games is often because they are playing too fancy and NOT keeping it simple. Besides, no matter how they play they need to put in a full effort, or else they are just setting themselves up to play below the opponent's intensity level in the 1st round. http://www.buffalonews.com/2010/04/03/1 ... night.html Yet another link full of critical responses from players (Rivet, Grier, and Gaustad). They just recently clinched a playoff spot, haven't clinched the division yet, let alone a very important 2nd seed. There is ZERO excuse for laying off. |
