These last 4 games will be an interesting test for the Sabres as they wind down the regular season.

They are going to be facing some solid goaltending this week. How do you think it will go?

Rangers - Lundqvist
Boston - Rask
Ottawa - Elliott
New Jersey - Brodeur

I think they'll go 2-2 (losses to Senz and Devils) and finish with an eeven 100 points and 3rd place behind Pittsburgh.

I don't think they'll win enough to grab the 2nd seed. Even if they were playing well it would be a challenge. Winning the division (even by backing into it) is great and you can't take that away, but the playoffs will be different, and they will need to elevate their play to win a round and justify the banner.

New Jersey usually starts their back-up for the last game of the season. So look for us to be playing against Danis.

Geez I want to know when Lindy is going to start Lalime. I thought Patty should have been in net against the Leafs and I was surprised to see Miller again against the Habs. I know we want to clinch the division...but we have the "luxury" of at least being clinched for a playoff spot, unlike years past where we essentially had to start Ryan in every game if we had any hope whatsoever of making the postseason. Now that we're clinched, I think Ryan deserves a few more nights off.

I want to see the Sabres lock up the division, and then rest Millsie the rest of the way into the playoffs.

I hate to say it and even think it but I think Miller's ego got in the way of Lalime starting against TO. Lindy probably left the decision up to Millsy and he wanted to play(good sign) but he should have rested that game.

I'm not sold on Lundqvist or Elliot.

Lundqvist is still very capable and Elliot OWNS us, the numbers don't lie. That being said, I would take my chances versus either of these teams come playoff time. NYR seem to be outrageously inconsistent and when Gaborik isnt scoring, this team is just plain bad. And we OWN Ottawa in the playoffs, not to mention Elliot has zero playoff experience and Miller has plenty to spare.

Huh? Where did you get THAT idea?

My most recent memories of Ottawa vs. Buffalo in the playoffs are not pretty. It was the ECF 3 years ago, you remember, the year the Sabres won the Presidents Trophy. It was the year the cup was to finally come here.

It was also the year the Sens cleaned the Sabres clock in 5 games. It was an Epic Fail. THAT is where we left off with Sabres/Sens playoff hockey.

Ottawa has owned the Sabres ever since---and I mean OWNED about as bad as a team can be owned by another.

I wouldn't count on that.

Both the Penz and the Devils are locked in a dead heat for that 2nd spot. Both have 97 points with 4 remaining games. They keep flipping back and forth. Whoever is in 2nd probably plays Boston, Philly or Montreal. Numer 4 plays #5 Ottawa.

I'm sure the Devils would really like to hold on to 2nd and will play hard until the end of game 82 to lock it in.

That almost certainly guarantees Brodeur the rest of the way.

New Jersey doesn't worry about possible opponents. Possible opponents worry about New Jersey. Look for Danis to be in the net.
