I dont think its that bold of him, last night was the first time all season montreal beat us in regulation and only the second of six games. We'll also be better off with the guys currently injured.

I just think it's cocky to assume that any series would be a cake walk... It's the playoffs, and anything can happen. Some teams get swept, and some series takes 7 games to decide which team is the winner. Of course we all have our opinions on which teams we'd rather face and which teams we'd rather not, but let's be a little more subtle about it.

Most recent play is always a key indicator. The Sabres were dominated by the Habs n their last 2 meetings: Obviously last night's shutout, but certainly the previous game as well. Yes, the Sabres pulled it off in the end of that game, but they needed a 6 on 4 immediately followed by a 5 on 4 to do it. While a win is a win is a win, those flukey situations are rare. If you remember the post-game comments from the players, they weren't a bunch of "homers", they totally recognized that.

Of the bottom 3-5 teams hovering around 6-10, the Habs are the LAST team you want the Sabres to face.
