I'll believe it when it happens, but Lindy is saying he'll sit slumping players (Stafford) in favor of the kiddies.

Also of note in that article, it says Tyler Myers is one goal away from tying Brian Campbell for most goals by a Sabres defenseman since the end of the lockout.

TBN - Sabres Notebook: Ruff leaves door open for Ennis, Gerbe to stay in lineup

Can only hope so, staff is the most unmotivated and useless piece of shit out there!

I would keep Ennis up in favor of Stafford. Gerbe I don't really see a place for.

This. When the playoff start, and teams tighten up defensively and move to a more physical game, I think a lot of Gerbe's attributes will be negated. Ennis on the other hand, although not overly big, seems to play much bigger than his size and clearly when here is the best playmaker on the team outside of Connolly. Not to mention he seems to have crazy chemistry with Pommers

I love Gerbe, I like his hard play, his speed both into the offensive zone and coming back on the backcheck (he's saved a few goals for sure), but I see him being invisible in the playoffs.

We'll see. That tends to be the case for many rookies.

Ennis maybe, but I get the feeling that this won't be the case for Myers. Kid comes up huge almost every time he needs to.

When things got dicey in the WHL Chynoweth Cup Playoffs last season, Myers said in an interview that he thrives under pressure and prefers big minutes. He's a kid who wants to be thrown in the fire, just so he can show people he'll come out unsinged.

Hell, last season, in two games against the Hitmen in the Finals, Myers played 4:30 of the last 5:00 of the game.

If Stafford plays instead of Ennis or Gerbe, I will riot.

For reals. I remember listening to the games. They had penalty kills at the ends of both games, and then they got hemmed in. Myers stepped off the ice for one shift on the bench (:30) after playing for 2:30, then got right back out there to play the final 2:00. I was in shock listening to the games.

I sure hope Staffypoo is on the bench....i'll take either ennis or gerbe please...as long as one of the two rookies plays well the last 3 games, i really could see ruff sitting stafford

It was even better watching it :D and thinking this kid's gonna play for us. Fuck yes.

I've seen Grier play entire PKs sometimes. It's impressive.

I'm more than happy to see Stafford out, though I'm not completely sold on Gerbe. I mean, I know Ennis and Kennedy are small too... but Gerbe is just small. And it wouldn't matter if Gerbe had amazing hands or anything and used them, but it seems like he tries to play bigger than he is, which will lead to some hard times come the playoffs when you're playing against big, strong teams that don't want to lose a single game and will barrel over anyone who gets in their way.

My ideal would be to keep Ennis up, send Gerbe down, sit Stafford and somehow work Vanek, Connolly and Kaleta back in. Personally. But we'll see where this goes. ;)

P.S: Have we seen any playoff hockey with Kaleta yet? The guy always brings 110%, I wonder how much of a tear he'll go on in the playoffs. Heads will be flying. :)

If memory serves, he didn't play during the '06/'07 playoffs. I cannot wait to see Patrick Kaleta in playoff mode.
