Im curious of your thoughts on the line up if TV is out? 1 - Will ZE German be back any time soon? I believe he is greatly missed? 2 - Stafford? Is he hurt? or just still playing like a girl (no offense to the ladies)... do you put himin if he is healthy? 3 - Do you can anyone up? Mancari... mainly for his size 4 - Move Raffi up a line or two? 5 - What are your line combos? And please no more Roy with Mair.... that didn't look good! And one last question, off topic... I caught the game a bit later on DVR, did anyone see Chara's crosscheck on Roy after the whistle, then Timmy fell into Chara.... shouldn't that have been a penalty? Or am I missing something.... |

I believe Hecht is gone for the series and possibly longer. Stafford I thought was practicing with full body contact so he may be an option. Assuming he can play I'd have my lines as so Ennis Connolly Pomms Kennedy Roy Stafford Torres Goose Grier Ellis Mair Kaleta if Stafford can't play Kennedy Connolly Pomms Ennis Roy Kaleta Torres Goose Grier Ellis Mair Mancari |

Basically don't pull a blatant interference or a roughing, and you're ok. Seems like the goalies have been protected, and the players not so much. They are giving teams who don't live off the PP a chance. I'll bet that changes in the later rounds. Seems like they're trying to make the 1st round exciting and as even as possible. No calls in 1st games(dogs won), then some calls(and favs won by PP). This game is WAYYY too easily manipulated by officiating( and rule-making). |

What about Torres moving up to Vanek's spot while he's out? Do you think he could pull it off? Are they at all similar in playing style?

It'd be hard for any player in our lineup to fill Vanek's shoes, he's been absolutely on fire lately. I guess I wouldn't mind moving Torres up though. |

I don't even want to think about what the line-up needs to be. Stafford, then Hecht, and now Vanek missing? This is like 2006 all over again, but two series too soon. |

He's got guts and isn't afraid to stick himself in there. Am I wrong in thinking that this is Vanek's job description as winger? (You-all are supposed to be educating me- have I got it right?) |

I think Ennis is playing better than stafford and if Stafford were healthy, I would not be sitting Ennis... I guess maybe Ellis would sit... Hect is hurting us a ton! Especially his defensive game! And TV was hot .... so we have basiclly lost our best defensive offense-men and our best offensive offense-men.... in round one... and one of our other top three offense-men (Timmy C) may stay be more banged up than we all think with that foot... yes he is playing, but if it was the regular season, would he be? We need to get through Boston and try and get a little rest and get some players healthy! So, When will Stafford be healthy and will he stop playing like a girl (no offense ladies) Whats the soonest ZE German will be back? How bad is TV and how close to 100% will he be when he does return.... And how close to 100% is Timmy? Personally, I think we can still beat Boston! Even without TV and a player short the other day we still almost won... We can still BEAT Boston! Everyone healthy just needs to step up a little bit!!! And someone needs to hammer Chara... |

I think putting Torres in Vanek's spot is the best call. He is capable of scoring when put on a line with other good players. He is tough and never stops moving. I know a few people will bring up how he played before on our 1/2 line, but he has hurt at the time. I think the main reason I woul do it is you are only switching up 1 line instead of messing up the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and fourth lines by moving 1 person up on each line. |

But, you have to remember he was pretty good during the Oilers trip to the Cup Finals in '06. So he does have the experience, he could help. |

Boston has some injuries too. We should be able to take advantage of this by dominating puck possession, and we did in the first period of game 2, but it went away in the second. |

Are they at all similar in playing style? ![]() No torres is not a first/second liner Just out of curiosity, did we not bring him in to be a hard-nosed top 6 forward? More like second line though. Granted he hasn't really produced yet (then again, he's not usually paired with the greatest offensive players in the league, to say the least), but he did lead in goals when he came here and his physicality and willingness to go into the dirty areas for the puck could be vital on the top lines with Vanek out. Not to mention the whole "being the first guy in a scrum to defend a teammate" thing, and the playoff experience. While I don't condone whatsoever with such big line changes in the playoffs, how does this sound to people... Pominville Roy Ennis - Keep Pommers and Ennis together, take out Connolly (we dont need 2 playmakers together anyways). Inject some Roy. Torres Connolly Kennedy - Torres and Kennedy working hard to the net, Connolly maybe see's some new life and a little more room to work. Grier Gaustad Stafford - A mix of defense, strength and scoring. Ellis Mair Kaleta - Pretty much a pure energy line. Hitting hard, fighting and maybe a goal at some point. If Stafford isn't ready, bring Mancari up to replace him I guess. Though I'm not a huge fan of either of them honestly. |
