Per Ruff interview on Sabres.com. Also, Stafford out with concussion, and questionable for opener.

Lindy heaps a lot of praise on Kennedy. Ruff thinks he's playing excellent positionally, shows great speed, willing to play tough, and that he's rock solid in his own zone. He also said he wants to keep him at center because he is so smart and plays with his head up. Thinks he's been the best player on the ice for the Sabres. I do not expect him to be sent down after all that.

They are still discussing Myers thru tomorrow, but is remaining noncommittal.

Feels Pominville is back at the top of his game again. Been the best veteran in every aspect. Might be using Butler on the point of the PP to give Poms a chance to play forward.

Stafford has a concussion?

Fuck.

Looks like Gerbe may get his chance after all, as Kennedy was already a lock.

Myers, better be staying.

He was much less effusive in praise about Gerbe in the interview. Noted he's pleased he scored a couple goals, but didn't sound excited about his camp or preseason beyond that.

Lydman also has a hand injury, which probably means that Myers is going to stay with us.

McCormick is sent down eh? That's too bad, seemed like a really reliable 4th liner to me.

He'll be a decent injury callup I'd think.

Shit. Injury news already. This is not how I wanted to see Myers get his chance, especially at the expense of Loods.

Butler and Myers playing the point was an almost incredible PP pointmen.

Kept the puck in the zone whenever it got close to them, and took plenty of point shots.

Myers will get his chance, you have 9 games to make that final decision.

Yea, I'm bummed he got sent down, too.

Was looking forward to him punching faces aplenty this season.

This shouldn't be much of a surprise. There will be at most 14 forwards on the team. Thirteen already under one way contracts are...

Vanek, Pominville, Connolly, Roy, Hecht, Gaustad, Stafford, MacArthur, Grier, Paille, Mair, Ellis, and Kaleta.

That leaves room for Kennedy or Myers, depending if the F to D ratio is 14-7 or 13-8. McCormick will have plenty of chances to bang and fight on the 4th line once injuries to the bottom six occur.

Given that Mair is already injured, the herd is already thinning.

Is 27 Montador, because that was Teppo before he retired?

I hope he gets called up whenever someone's out. I want to see faces smashed.
