Awesome... He's exceeded so many expectations this year, I really hope he gets it.

It'll come down to either Myers or Duchense. The edge should go to Tyler considering the position he plays

Straight from juniors, to leading an NHL team in minutes, scoring mad points, and playing special teams.

All at the ripe age of 19/20 years old.

It's Myers' trophy. There's no way anyone else deserves it more.

Duchene came straight from Juniors also and was the third leading scorer on the Avs.

But he only had 7 more points then Myers as a forward. It goes to Myers for sure.

And defense is 10 times harder to play than offense as a rookie in the NHL.

48 points, +13 as a rookie DEFENSEMAN.

Start engraving it now.

I'd love to see Myers win it, but Howard has a fairly strong case as well, regardless of how you feel about his age or goalie development.

Nope. No way.

Howard has been very good, but I'd compare what he's done to Myers playing at least 1 year in the AHL and then playing the way he has this season.

Myers skipped the AHL altogether, and tore it up this year. There's no way Howard deserves it over Myers.

I'm sticking to it. :D

Personally I think the first pairing minutes is the most impressive stat.

Myers to win
Duchene to place

Howard to soil his adult diapers and misplace his false teeth while mark recchi calls him "pops."

This is what seals it for me. Howard had almost 3 full AHL seasons under his belt before making the leap to full time NHL starter.

Myers was playing with 18 year olds LAST YEAR.

Case closed.

Yup. And I understand the argument about how goaltenders take longer to develop, but defensemen don't just pop out of juniors and play like this in the NHL.

Why don't you say that to Myers then.

Howard has been impressive, no doubt. He single-handedly kept the Red Wings alive during their absolutely brutal stretch of injuries. BUT, a defenseman does not just make the jump straight from juniors to the NHL and dominate on almost a nightly basis. Let us not forget, Myers was one point out of the top ten in d-men scoring (tied with a nobody named Niedermayer, I think ;)). Oh yea, he also played top-pair minutes against the opposition's top lines.

Myers over Howard. Duchene takes a distant third place.

i dunno, i still think howard got snubbed when he wasnt a vezina finalist. it could go either way, and either way is fine with me. but if my vote counted, id give it to howard. a rookie is a rookie is a rookie.
