Anybody notice him scratched from the lineup last nite?

I didn't either!! :)

EDIT: don't get me wrong -- I admire the way Torres was willing to throw the shoulder; goodness knows we needed more of that up front -- but he never seemed to get in sync with anyone, passes kept missing the mark . . .

I think Darcy looked at his 19 goals and thought he had stolen a scorer with size -- turns out he's just another Bob Corkum.

yes

I made a much more stat-backed argument in the "don't want to see Vanek back" thread, but really Torres has been better than almost all the other forwards, including Connolly, Roy, Gaustad, Stafford, and Kaleta IMO.

Guess we're seeing things totally differently crozier.

I wonder whose compnay Chris Butler prefers more in the press box: Torres or Stafford?

It's gotta be pretty weird sitting up there with another guy who's also hit the skids. That's serious career shit when you're watching in plain clothes.

Forget hockey for a sec, I really do feel bad for those guys. Lota pride goes into being a pro and things can turn south quickly. Quite the mindfuck. Most people don't have to deal with that stuff, but it's gotta be pretty heavy.

I even heard that Jocelyn Thibault is putting his position as my avatar on his résumé at this point.

can't say I understand the benching. He's had 2 points in 4 games with a good physical presence. Stafford is looking more and more like Kotalik each shift and deserves to ride the pine.

Why is Stafford a problem? Just because you don't see him? He's fine, Connolly and Roy are making the mistakes.

Don't get me wrong, Torres should be in, but Connolly and Roy are screwing us more than Stafford. Stafford at least keeps the puck in the zone.

Ummm, sorta... Stafford carries the puck into the zone regardless of whether it's a 2 on 2, or a 1 on 4 - at which point he is routinely stripped and gives up an odd man rush the other way - he's trying to be way to cute with the plays... Give Raffi a shot in game 6

I think Stafford hasn't been as bad as everyone here says he has.

Roy and Connolly need to stay in the lineup as well. So forget about it.

Torres was the scratch because he stopped throwing his body around late in Game 4.

I think Torres was out because any loss is season ending.. Which means every player that was a Sabre this whole year or will be a Sabre next year will be fighting until every ounce of energy is used.. Torres, on the other hand, hasn't been here so he hasn't been through the ups and downs this team has had and won't be here next year.. I don't think his mind is where everyone elses mind is at right now..

I don't believe Raffi has ever been given a true shot at collecting points as a Sabre, excluding the very first game he played with the team. If they brought him in here to score goals, maybe they should have given him a chance.

How many more goals/points do Grier and Goose have than Torres since the trade deadline?
