So when do you guys think we (as if we had some input on the matter) start considering Myers for a letter?
Do you give him the A first, then perhaps the C the next year?

Do we just leave him alone for next year, see if he has some sort of sophomore slump, and then stick the A on him the next year?

What do you suppose the mental effect on Myers would be, given so much respect/authority.

Do you think the older guys would be pissed about it? Can you give a youngster in the room with much older guys a letter?

Opinions?

Hes still learning, its obvious that he is still being guided by a lot of the guys while adding in his own skill. Maybe in a few years.

Give him the A, confidence boost, and if he does better next year give him the C, if not stick with the A.

I love that, but I think one of the skill players should get a letter too. As much as we rag on Pominville, I still think he has solid leadership quality.

I can get on the Goose for Captain train. I've always admired his leadership skills. He always hustles on the ice and tries to set the tone. As for Myers, let his game develop completely, then start thinking about giving the guy a letter.

I think Pominville as the A is an awesome idea. People make fun of him but he's starting to get his offensive skills back, such as sniping skills and his performance with Roy and Ennis last night.

Pominville has had an "A" for the entire season.

Okay, Pominville keeps the A.

Hey, as it's going now, Ennis should have an A. He's doing the most work on the team!

The A's were alternated throughout the season with home games and away games.

It was Roy and Hecht I think and Goose and Pominville for the A's. Or Grier and Hecht, I don't remember now.

Rivet was Captain and we had 4 A's.

Next season Rivet should remain captain, because even though his play has deteriorated, his attitude and work ethic has not...and that's what the captaincy is about anyway. Gaustad should have an 'A', and this series has cemented the fact that Grier should be re-signed, and he should wear the other 'A'.

In two seasons when Rivet is gone (and possibly Grier also), Gaustad should have the 'C'. Then Myers might have some consideration.

When the time comes, if Myers is right for the C, he gets the C. If he's not, he doesn't.

There have been plenty of great players in the history of this game that weren't great leaders, and didn't make good captains. Don't force it on the kid.

I don't know if I see Myers being a captain.

Maybe late in his career ala Nik Lidstrom. But, I don't see him being a guy like Toews, Richards, Crosby, or Ovy that is a young captain type.

I'd rather just have him focus on developing his game for the next 4 or 5 years and worry about giving him a letter much further on down the road.

Having to be the ice time leader on this team is a big enough burden for the kid.

If we're talking young captains, how about Tim Kennedy?

Not to mention he's a mean SOB on the ice... Much meaner than anyone else currently with a letter - as well as Myers, who needs to get a little bit of a chip on his shoulder if he ever wants the "C". Lindy loves guys that remind him of himself when he was captain... I'm going with Goose in 2 yrs.
