He's egomaniacal, very pro-czech, a lot slower than he used to be, expensive, and often times VERY aloof with the media.

So why would I (or anybody) suggest enticing him to play in Buffalo?

Because he still wants another Stanley Cup, he's a fierce competitor, he wants back into the NHL and he wants that Cup. At least that's what I have gathered from reading about him and listening to radio shows.

The Sabres need fire power on the right wing, SIZE, and a magician running the power play. He is all of that and a bag of chips. Trade Connelly to the Islanders for a second round draft pick and sign Jagr to 5 million dollars for one year.

Guy still has some game left. I got to see him in action at the Olympics. Granted he got crushed by Ovechkin in that game, but still, I think if you can be effective in the Olympics, you can be effective in the NHL.

Normally, I'd agree with that sentiment, but it was a specific comment that he basically called Vanek a no-talent cherry picker.

Me too. At least, I think he often intends to be funny in a sarcastic and quirky European kind of way.

I liked Jagr the most when he was just a 19 year old kid in Pittsburgh who didn't speak or understand anybody and just went out there with enthusiasm and raw talent.
