Uh, I really don't know what to make of this comment about Grier during his presser today:

On one hand, people are going to blow it out of proportion and the ZOMG MARLEAU TO TEH SABRES!!1! comments could erupt, but on the other hand, I dunno. I just dunno.

I doubt he does, but if management says "Ohai let's sign this guy", my guess is Grier would get on the horn and talk the good talk about Buffalo.

Given the perception of our city it seems like it might not be a bad idea to have someone do that permanently.

This is a great idea, because Grier is one of those well established players in the NHL that can do something like this.

Remember, it was Grier that made players shun Buffalo. Hopefully he can rectify this and bring some good players here.

I see Grier as a guy who is getting to the end of his career, sees a potential Cup winner in Buffalo and is going to do as much as he can to get the right people here to fill the holes to make it happen. Not saying he can make mountains move but any help is welcome I imagine.

good for him. seems the sabres have come a long ways since peca talked a key free agent defensemen out of coming to buffalo.
