Isn't it very unusual for a Quebec kid to develop in the college leagues? I mean, what's wrong with the QMJHL! Interesting story, to me anyways, can never have enough RHD!

Harvard boy, captain of his team, team MVP two seasons running, never missed a game in four years, solid defender, well-liked by his teammates...this is a good signing. He may not be the best guy in the pipeline, but he sounds like a decent dude.

Harvard signing? This sounds like a Buffalo Bills signing.

No, you're thinking Stanford.

Wonder if they signed him just to be a leader, Harvard builds leaders.

Sidenote:

I was originally going to post his name as Rory Fitzpatrick. Good thing I looked it up.

Interesting Rory Fitzpatrick story.....A friend of mine works at a local Marine business. Fitzpatrick came in to buy two jet skis and on the credit application filled out the following:

Job: Hockey Player
Position: Defense

I thought it was hilarious when I received the picture message on my cell of this. Not something you see every day.

Good signing for sure but are the Sabres building a ECHL team? They seem to have a lot of guys signed for next year and i am assuming they will want a few vets just in case.

Signing these players doesn't necessarily mean that they'll be on the Sabres, most of them are going to Portland.

ECHL is a level below portland, I think he's saying that we're going to have 2 farm teams by the looks of it because of all the youngsters portland has signed.

That's how I interpreted it as well, but (and someone correct me if I'm wrong) the Sabres are one of a few teams - if not the team - in the NHL to not have an ECHL affiliate.

Only 23 NHL franchises have an affiliation agreement with an ECHL team.
