According to CapGeek and the Maine Hockey Journal (who has always been the most trusted source for news about the Pirates), Nathan Gerbe's arch-nemesis Tim Conboy has been signed to a two-way contract by Darcy Regier. You guys may remember Gerbe's and Conboy's antics from the infamous Pirates/River Rats game at HSBC Arena two seasons ago that had Gerbe's head slammed into the ice and Conboy suspended for four games. You may also remember that, reprehensible as Conboy's actions may have been, Gerbe was 100% at fault for the brouhaha. Kicked one River Rat in the shin, suckered another, and instigated a fight with three River Rats players on the bench. Anyone who didn't see that coming from Mike, raise their hand  Seriously though, I think his attitude and sense of entitlement have come a LONG way since his rookie season. What once made me not like him has been adjusted for the better enough that I like him for it. |

Conboy was a Hurricane due to injuries, but I doubt he'll be much of anything for us. Just filling in some Pirate roster spots. Or he'll be a goon on the 4th line. |
