(God forbid) Who would you like to see as the new play-by-play announcer? I liked the guy who called some of the games on last years West coast roadtrip...I can't remember his name, but I believe he might be the play-by-play guy for Hamilton...? He sounded kind of young, but I thought he did a really good job. I would also like to see Mike Robitaille take over the color position from Harry Neale (I'd love to hear more of his half-drunken rants during the game). I'd like Sylvester to stay on as the intermission report guy and his sidekick could be either Danny Gare or Rob Ray. The odd man out (Ray or Gare) would be the dude between the benches. Thoughts? |

gary thorne. i feel hes the best announcer ive heard. i like RJ, but i like thorne even more. and why not? he calls orioles games, so hes not below being a broadcaster for a team outside of a national TV program. the bar was set high, why not keep it high? |

People who love him, love him and people who don't think he's an annoying fuck and constantly blast him. Fuck the haters though, RJ is king. |

I don't know if it's just his work on NHL 10 that is bad, but Gary Thorne sucks. If I could put the game down, I would solely because of the Thorne/Clement duo. Honestly, I would prefer the younger Jeanneret, trusting his voice gets deeper with time. I'd recommend Dave Strader, but I believe he is still working for the Coyotes. |
