The Buffalo Sabres today announced that defensemen Chris Butler will donate two tickets to Military members from Western New York for each Sabres home game this season as part of the “Tickets for Troops” program. The seats are located in Sec 100, Row 18.

“I wanted to do this for the Armed Forces because it’s always something I’ve had a deep appreciation for,” explained Butler. “There’s a military history in my family, and I’ve always been impressed by the dedication that soldiers have.”

Any interested Military members who would like to be considered for these tickets can visit click here to complete the Tickets for Troops application.

Tickets for Troops is a non-profit organization founded in 2007, to show appreciation for and give thanks to the members of the military for the hardships they endure and the sacrifices they make while on deployment.



This is the kind of stuff that makes me want to put a C on the kid now.

He is what Buffalo is all about. Selfless acts, to make sure others are taken care of, and have what they need; over a little bit of money. Butler doesn't make 4M a year, he's still on his entry level deal (granted it's still more than 99% of the forums members make), but he bought 2 season tickets for people he doesn't even know.

very cool, but my guess is its part of the tickets he is alloted each game. maybe not though.

I'm going to enter my son and see if they have anything available around Christmas exodus.
I think he'll be home for 10 days before being stationed or deployed. :handgestures-salute: :flags-usa:

Butler's a great kid - Wonderful character. Great work-ethic. I'm glad we have him on this team.

He'll go far. Let's hope he's recognized for his qualities, and retained for many years.

What a group of standup guys we have on this team. So many of them are doing amazing work in the community and for the fans, that it makes me so proud to be a Sabres fan. Good for Chris Butler; he's making himself right at home in Buffalo, and rightfully so.
