Well. Ninth is more than fair. What does the rest of their list look like, though? |

Well, it's not an image. I just screen capped the page, and cropped that out in paint. |

I don't want to be a pessimist but I think 9th is too high. Our scoring completely depends on 2 lines and there is no indication that our pp will be better this year. EDIT: I'm glad the experts rate them high though, I don't know much about the other teams offseason. |

Actually our forwards last year were fourth in the NHL in scoring, overall we were 9th for team tied with LA. I'm not sure about the 4th for forwards, it's just something I read. But we were 4th or third best in stopping the puck. Our team is meant to grind out one goal games now, not score 4 goals a game anymore. Our game is how Ruff wanted it to be all along, gritty, tough, defensive hockey built around a great goalie and above average D-corps. I think 9th is a pretty good spot for the Sabres. I think we will win the Division again, and make it past the first round of the playoffs. We have the parts to go far in the playoffs this year, if everyone stays healthy during them. |

If we can get our PP working again then holy shit people will need to watch out for this team. 2nd in the league on PK is no laughing matter. And if we had a top 5 PP we would have swarmed, that's all I think is really missing. |

Of course everyone on that site will go against the Sabres. They're all biased Habs and Maple Leaf Fans. |

I honestly don't see Carolina that bad. Maple Leafs aren't that good. And Philly made the cup, and aren't even top 10? I think Pittsburgh is still a top 8 team in the league, but not a cup caliber team anymore. |

THN ranks the Sabres as having the best goalie and top 20 LW and defenseman in the game, I'll take that, too. |

Orange Costanza wrote: how is pittsburgh ranked 13th? NO wingers, and nobody on the blueline that is great at moving the puck at ES. Kuntiz is a great all around winger, but he's still only a 20 goal scorer. After that there is nothing, not even a 20 goal scorer. Now they are putting Malkin at wing, retarding his talents significantly especially when you consider the fact that he wont be playing on Crosby's line (as part of plan A) so who is going to get him the puck? Staal when he gets healthy? LOL He is the worst passing #2 overall center of all time, very limited vision. Their power play and goal tending are also huge question marks. In a cap era don't ever get too comfortable thinking a team is top 5, ot bottom 5. These things can change quickly. I would say Buffalo is 8th overall, and I would say the Penguins are 12th. |

The Globe and Mail our biggest problem was the lack of forward scoring depth was and is still our biggest problem. |

I think we're a top-10 team, so this ranking is fair. I'm a little surprised Phoenix is ranked as high as they are |
