MSG and DISH can't reach an agreement, so the channel is no longer available on DISH Network.

This means no Sabres games for you folks.

I think this is one of the few times I am happy to have Time Warner Cable.

mother fuckers. I'm still waiting to see if I'll be getting HD games on Center Ice. I really don't like MSG.

Well, I have Dish Network, so now it's time to get some opinions.

Who here has Direct TV? Do they show Sabres games in HD? Are you happy with your service?

I have DirecTV, have for about 3 years now after I dropped TWC. It's been solid, never had issues with it. It was about $25 a month cheaper than a similar TWC channel lineup. Lots of HD content too.

EDIT: Yes, all Sabres games that have been available in HD have been shown in HD for me.

I had Direct TV for 3 years. The Customer service (in my experience) was fucking terrible and I was having issues all the time with them saying I was going to get one thing and then finding out later that it was bull. I wanted to upgrade to the DVR reciever and they were going to charge me something like 2 hundred or more bucks for it. I told them I wanted to stick with their service and that since I was out of the contract period I could simply pull out and go to Dish Network and get the DVR for free (they make their own, Samsung makes them for Direct TV...or did). They said they couldn't help me, I told them to fuck off and switched. If you switch, get the stuff you want since they will rape your wallet if you want any upgrades after the initial installation.

Wow...sorry folks.
Sometimes living out of the area has its advantages I suppose.

Those with Dish could still conceivably get center ice no?
Or would blackout rules mess that all up?

Blackout rules would mess it up.

So people in NY with Dish won't get any games except the ones on Versus? Wow..that's fucking retarded.

And you can watch Dish's WNY subscriber numbers fall through the floor.

I hate this shit where a fucking television network owns the rights to a team's broadcasts. I mean as consumers who pay we still get screwed over. What happened to the days when the game was on NBC or ABC and no one had to worry about this?

I really hope this gets figured out before the start of the season.

I don't want the hassle of changing. Especially since all the shows I have on my Dish DVR will go bye bye.....

That's the one thing I'm bumming about. But oh well. I think there's a way to copy them off of it and put them on my computer.

If you all got Center Ice on the Dish Network, you could still probably watch many, if not most of the games by watching the other teams' broadcasts, assuming they're not playing the Devils, Rangers, or Islanders who also use MSG. I found last year that Center Ice very often offered both broadcasts of a lot of games.

Well that's also assuming the people in charge of the blackout rules are seriously not paying attention.
