I was mad enough about Kaleta leaving his feet (I didn't get to watch that part of the game and forgot to DVR it) and throwing the same kind of dangerous hit his goaltender was bust laying into recently, but when he actually went in to try and headbutt Zajac (which I did see) it pissed me off to no end.

Kaleta is our douche and we love him, but if he keeps that shit up he's gonna have at least one less fan from his own fanbase.

Fucking bush league move. Zajac needs to blast him next game.

Yeah I noticed that. Pretty awesome. Kaleta is the type of person I would never want to be friends with...solely based on looking at him...he just seems like he would be a total cockbag. I love his play on the ice though.

I didn't think the hit he got a penalty for was that bad. Worth a penalty, but not all that dirty or dangerous. At least that's how it looked.

I saw the Zajac headbutt though, and commented on it in the GDT. kind of bush league if that's what he was really trying to do, who knows. It certainly looked that way.

Honestly, I thought it was hilarious. He didn't get a penalty or anything from it, and it really looked like he was just trying to agitate him, which he surely did since Zajac retaliated from the hit and the little headbutt.

I still thought it was fucking funny.

I found the little headbutt hilarious, mostly because it wasn't dangerous/hard like zidane's world cup masher.

it was pretty stupid...BUT, he didnt have much leverage, and he didnt really 'snap' his head forward as if he were trying to really hurt the dude, it really looked like he was trying to annoy him and just bump him.

Both were fucking stupid. If someone from the Devils or any team did that shit to a guy from the Sabres we'd be bitching to no end about him and why he didn't get kicked out, suspended etc.

He may win the Floppa Award this season! very nice

Yeah...that was lame. It makes us look stupid, especially after the Pominville incident. He certainly isn't helping his reputation, and Colin Campbell has already stated that he's keeping a close watch on Kaleta, I'm sure he is just itching to suspend him. Kaleta can be a perfectly effective agitator without any of that bush league shit.

Guys...it wasn't funny. It was bush league and I wouldn't even care if he got suspended for it. A lot of Sabres fans were really pissed off when fans from around the league didn't think Hjalmarsson's hit on Pominville was that bad, and now you guys are condoning Kaleta acting in the same stupid, reckless way that Hjalmarsson did... Do you guys realize that?

No, you cannot equate the two. One was actually dangerous, the other was obnoxious, but was not intended to/delivered in a way that could cause an actual injury, they are not the same thing.

I agree it wasnt really funny, and it was bush league, and quite frankly immature and transparent, but it was not in the same class as hjalmarssons hit.

What really pisses me off about that whole situation is that,

A. Kaleta delivered a clean body check on the Devil, then 3 other Devils jump him. What ever happened to hockey being a full contact sport, and if you get hit cleanly, you get the fuck up and deal with it?

B. Kaleta headbutting someone is bush league, end of story.

C. Why with your history of neck injury are you using your head as a weapon, you dumb shit.

D. Why on earth is this even being compared to the hit the other night? Two completely different circumstances. I equate this to the Rutuu biting incident, not a clear intent to injure incident. It's just childish and cowardly. Can't do a whole lot of damage with your head when you headbutt someone wearing a helmet with a visor.

Hjalmarsson didn't intend to injure either, but the reason he was suspended was because it was stupid, unncessary, reckless and dangerous. You're telling me Kaleta's headbutt and charge weren't any of those things? It's hypocritical for him to say in the locker room that Hjalmarsson's hit shouldn't be allowed and it needs to be taken care of by the league, and then he goes out and does something idiotic like that. No one was hurt on the play, so no harm, no foul...but it's just the principle of it.

I love Kaleta and I love the way he plays and I always defend him...but when you play the agitator role like he does, you have to be smart about it. He usually is, but last night he was just stupid.

The only way I'm comparing it to Hjalmarsson's hit is because it was stupid and reckless, just like Hjalmarsson's hit on Pominville was. Obviously Hjalmarsson's hit was worse and more dangerous than Kaleta's headbutt, you don't need an expert to figure that one out. All I'm saying is we have players on our team like Ryan Miller and Kaleta who were very outspoken about why Hjalmarsson's hit was so wrong and how we need to change the culture of our game so stupid idiotic plays like Hjalmarsson's stop, and then Kaleta goes out there charging players and headbutting them.

Well I was definitely just talking about the headbutt. It was more silly than anything, annoying, obnoxious and petulant, and I do wish he hadnt done that.

The charging bothered me much more, he CLEARLY left his feet and was plainly targeting the guy. I dont want him doing that stuff.

It's because it's Kaleta. Kaleta has a reputation and Hjalmarson doesn't. Simple as that.

umm yeah it was. that's what agitators do, they agitate. he's a good one. if that's not your cup of tea then fine, but it goes with the role they play. I only like the ones on my team.

Honestly, I think Kaleta just buried his head when he steamed forward to make a hit since he didn't have much momentum going.
