When did we get an Alex on the team?

Remember that time a few years ago when we were playing Philly, and Biron was still with the Flyers, and during the recap, the reporter kept switching which team Miller and Biron were on.

It really annoys me when other teams' announcers pronounce Derek Roy as Derek "Wah". Come on, he's been in the league for like 6 years!

The correct pronunciation is Roy. He's said that he doesn't care of people call him 'Wah' because it's too much work to correct everyone.

Yeah, I remember Roy saying that. I can sort of relate, so many people pronounce my name "Carolyn" even after I correct them. So I just give up sometimes.

Haha... this is completely different from correct pronunciations, though. They used the wrong name! Like, come on.

:lol: It's not even close, but at least the number of letters were correct.

I know! It's like they think that Caroline and Carolyn are the same name, just different pronunciations.

No.

Caroline = Care-OH-LINE (kind of like how you say carolina, minus the 'a')

Carolyn = Care-Oh-LINN

Derek Roy's name is actually supposed to be pronounced like Patrick Roy's. He said this in an interview:

Quote:
Is it true that ROY is not the correct pronunciation of your last name? If so, what is?

"ROY is the English way to pronounce it, but I have French heritage – my family is French and I went to French school my school my whole life. The correct pronunciation is actually WEH."

Should of put this warning label up.

If you go onto Twitter and in the search engine type in "Alex Kassian" it has several people posting that as his name instead of Zach... espn's evilness is spreading
