From the Buffalo News...

"It's exactly what he's trying to do is do too much," Ruff said. "In some cases, he's trying to do too much on his own. Moving the puck earlier in the play [against Dallas] would've been the right play. A lot of times, what has hurt him is hanging onto the puck too long. But we'll get him by that."

"I don't know if I'm trying to do too much," Myers said. "I'm thinking too much. I'm getting in my own head. It's more mental than anything. I feel good. I feel strong. I think I'm worried about just doing something wrong than just playing. If I can get back to just playing hockey, I'm not worried."

Uh, Tyler...you're trying to do too much. Use your D-partner more and pass the puck quicker up ice (as long as the forwards are actually staying back and trying to support the breakout). Every team and forward knows to pressure you until you stop trying to do it all yourself. Listen to your coach and don't get caught up thinking your a star and know it all.

No, Myers will not be stubborn. He is going to get his act together and play well enough for the team to win.

I think it's hard for a young guy like him in this position. He had a great season right out of the gate, he's super talented and I think he feels like every play needs to be Calder quality. That can really fuck with you when you start messing up. I know as an artist I have a rep as doing great work and always being out there in galleries etc. It got into my head when I first started having overwhelmingly positive responses to my work. I started thinking that everything I drew had to be perfect and gallery quality and it bogged me down. I didn't draw as much and I got frustrated until I finally talked to a good friend who owns a gallery. He told me to just do what I do and don't let people's ecpectations dictate what I do. I don't need to be the best every single time but if I do what I do I will end up just fine. This is kind of like Myers. He is trying to live up to what he thinks people expect out of him which has caused him to over think everything and has disrupted that natural play making he is capable of. Maybe he's taking tto much responsibility on in his own mind. He'll be okay though, just needs to work through it and get back to playing simple, soild hockey.

As much as I want him to build upon last year, I think it is better to play steady over time than become a shooting star overnight.

Myers played better last night, but not close where he should be.

So when are we going to consider the possibility that Tallinder had a lot more to do with Myers' success than we all thought? Hmmmmmmmmm

How much would it take to get Tallinder back?

An epic fail. No, we do not want Tallinder back. Having him and Lydman as the worst defensive pairing ever in Sabres history makes me puke.

I want Tallinder and Lydman back. Lydman is a solid defenseman who blocks a ton of shots and did you even watch Tallinder and Myers last year? THEY WERE FUCKING UNSTOPPABLE!!!!!!!

Tallinder happened to show up in a contract year and benefited from Myers' play.

Lydman, by himself, was good, but with Tallinder from 2007 through 2009, was half of Laurel and Hardy.

Neither has achieved success this year with the Devils or the Ducks.

Their play with their current teams has nothing to do with how they performed here.

Does anyone think Myers has played better this week, especially against Montréal and Toronto?
