So according to an article on WGR550's website Lindy was at a Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame induction tonight where he presented a speech during which he made one HELL of a bold statement. One in which I'm sure all Sabres fans will hold on him at the end of the season. “When things are tough it’s when the true character has got to come out,” Ruff said, “we are a playoff team, we will make the playoffs.” Full article: http://www.wgr550.com/Ruff-makes-bold-s ... I really love Lindy... Today must have been full of mixed feelings for Lindy, being inducted to the Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame while dealing with the Sabres being dead last in the league. |

Character is lacking in some players on the team. If you fail to score goals or fail to clear the puck out of the zone, you are not working hard, and you possess bad character. Rivet is undergoing a character lesson. Vanek, Stafford, Connolly, and Myers need one also. |

It's a ballsy move, that's for sure. As a practical matter, they're only 5 points out of 8th. However, the way they're playing can't give anyone hope that they can close that gap anytime soon. I'm interested to see how the players react to this. |

I'm not confident that they'll do it unless they turn a lot of things around though. They look like a last place team that deserves to be where they are in the standings. |
