Darcy Regier was on Schopp and Bulldog this evening.
He stated there will be no player changes to this roster at this time, they will just have to work through this rough patch.

Quoted from another Sabres fan:
"Acceptance that there is a serious problem by the ownership has to happen before any progress can be made in fixing this team.

Sadly, looks like ignoring the issues hoping they will correct themselves is the ownerships stance.

On the bright side, this will probably push any true rebuilding effort till around the trade deadline, where assets will have max value.

Until than, grab some liquor and enjoy the freefall."

So true indeed. :(

I can understand where he's coming from, if a streak like this came during the middle of the year we probably wouldn't be as pissed, but come on. We've had some of these same players for years. If they didn't win then and aren't winning now, what makes you think they ever will?

To be fair, he was saying the market is only in rip-off mode right now. IOW, you'd have to take on another teams cap, and get a burn deal, now. It seemed as though he left the door open. The only way I'd accept a bad deal is if it was holding up our young guys progress. Waiting until the deadline is probably a good idea. You'll have a better idea of where you stand then anyways.

Let's be REAL:

Getting better won't be that hard to do, because they're awful right now. Getting good enough to win a championship is a whole other issue.

You don't just HOPE everything comes together, you MAKE it come together. THAT is what a GOOD general manager does.

Darcy's intuition, as GM's go, is shit. THAT is the problem.

What successful team operates like this? I'll answer that for you: NONE.

Do they have to have no freaking chance in hell before "ownership" will do anything? I really cannot stand the "ownership" of this team. I really wish we had an owner with some balls that would tell his GM to just win baby.

Been screaming this for years powerplay.
Regier is the core of this problem here.

Tonights game is a prime example of his foul ups.
The product I see on the ice is the GM's. And as such, it sucks.

Trade Vanek, Stafford, Connolly, Rivet and Hecht at the deadline for Prospects and picks, lots of picks.
Tank the season, fire Regier immediately after the last game.
Bring in a GM (Rick Martin, Renee Robert, Gilbert Perrault? hell even Danny Gare) and look to the draft and FA.

The sad thing about this is if this team can rip off 3-5 wins in a row they are right back in the thick of things. This team isn't competing for any cup anytime soon until some major changes take place. This team needs a couple of first line players in the worst possible way.

I hope Regier was saying random things; however, his brain is defective most of the time.

I'm all for someone putting a bounty out on this 3 headed-hydra to fuck their shit up.

Regier keeps giving Lindy balls of cow shit to turn into gold. Bad news for you, Darcy, the Ruff shit/gold plant just can't cut it anymore without some help.

Fuck this group of morons + ownership is really starting to get on my nerves...

I wonder how many nights Lindy looks at the roster of his team..lines it up against the roster of the opposition...then just cries quietly.
