Gerbe and Rivet are both ready to go.

Rivet will continue to sit, and Gerbe will play in place of Kaleta.

Kaleta is listed as day to day with a bruised Sternum.

DISCUSS.

I'd rather see someone that weighs more than me on the ice...

Quit hating and give the kid a chance. He's young yet, and he has a nasty skill set. He needs to settle in, and he played good hockey for us during the playoffs last year.

I like Gerbe PSP.
I don't mind him in the line up at all.
Now Connolly on the other hand..............Don't get me started....................

Rivet has been out? How long? I haven't watched the last 9 games or so.

If Connolly remembered how to skate the puck in with speed, he'd be nasty again.

It's pretty simple, and I don't understand why Ruff hasn't been on his case about it. Go with speed, and he'll kill it.

Sounds OK to me. Kaleta hasn't been as much of a presence this season IMO. If Kaleta's not drawing penalties or putting fear into the opponent, Gerbe brings more to the table than Kaleta even when he's healthy.

I'm glad any pretense of Rivet being 'sick' is done and he's just being sat because he's not doing well on the ice.

Now if only he didnt have the C...

I like him, I really do, but I don't think he's a good fit in the hole we need to fill.

lol. Yep. I said it.

Agreed. I'm not the biggest Gerbe fan, he's definitely had his chances here and has not really fulfilled his 'potential'...but what he does bring skillwise is head and shoulders above Kaleta.

I agree. Kaleta hasn't been the ridiculous penalty drawer that he has been in prior seasons. He seems to be getting more called on him, which isn't effective. Maybe he's mellowed because of his injuries and if that's the case he loses most of what makes him appealing.

Rivet is done. Lindy is going with his best guys, and he's sending Craig the message that he isn't one of them.

This Connolly is dead. I think he died from brain damage.

I agree with NYI... I really like Gerbe... but he is the same as Ennis, I dont see him working well in the bottom 6... he is a top 6 skill set and thats where he should be...

With that said, I don't see how you can juggle the lines to get Gerbe in the top 6... REV has been lights out... you dont mess with them! Even when Staff is healthy you leave REV alone... i've had my concerns about REV in their own end, but they seem to be cleaning that up...

HCP have looked pretty decent and Ze German has been coming on strong... Timmy, well, I just don't know what to say about him, but I promise, he would look worse on the bottom 6...

So you can't really break up the top 6 to get Gerbe in there, so it'll be interesting to see a Cody, Goose, Gerbe line...

Which would leave Grier, Ellis and Neids....

What about a Gerbe, Ellis, Cody line? could that work...

of course that would leave Neids, Goose, Grier, which are 2 centers... probably wont work

I just don't see Neids or Grier being able to keep up with Gerbe...

Well Im curious to see what the kid can bring, and as some have said, Patty hasn't seemed to physical recently, so maybe Gerbe will slide in nicely... just dont mess with the top 6

i think because he has been misused, like Ennis, get him in the top 6 and the kid would be unreal, but with the way the team is playing, you can't mess with the top 6 right now...

Not that our lines are consistant or anything...but I feel like i've seen him get multiple shifts with many of our top 6 offensive players, and yet has not produced.

wouldn't that lead to consistency, continuity, and chemistry of the lines, look what happened when Ennis is paired with Roy and Vanek for more than a few shifts... but actually a few GAMES! Again, Ive had my issues with REV in their own end, BUT they seem to be working it out and seem like a viable top line...

Gerbe will be a very good NHL player. Give the kid a little time.

Ennis is a freak of nature. It's not common for rookies to come into the NHL and tear it up.
