i had heard before he returned the initial time, that his injury would require surgery to fix, but could play at his own risk with the injury.

just what i heard. no idea the source, or anything, so take with a massive block of salt.

No, they did not. If you wait too long to bring a player back, he may not have the good energy ready to go that he had.

This "injury" is likely soreness, and is nothing major.
