From the Buffalo News in regard to Roy's injury...

"We're still looking at the playoffs and believe we can make it," Regier said. "This is a challenge for our club and it should be embraced. It should be rallied around. It can be if you have the right approach. You can have fun with it."

First, making the playoffs is a pipe dream and nobody in the front office should be bothering with the lame rah-rah talk by now. Second, I guess I know what Darcy meant, but "fun" is about the oddest way to characterize the predicament they are in right now. It's really just a propaganda version of saying, "we're going to sit on our tight wad hands and let the AHL guys get playing time".

I'm actually fine with that in this instance. I would never want to see Ruff or the players trying to lose on purpose, but with a season so unpromising they may as well get a top five pick (if anyone there can actually cash in with a good selection).

Let us hope new ownership can take over next month to make changes that will make other changes to get into the playoffs.

Can we get this idea out of our heads? Terry Pegula isn't going to ride into Buffalo on a silver horse pulling a cart full of unicorns and magical gnomes, wave a wand full of rainbows and stardust, and turn this team into a Cup champion in a weekend full of hope and joy.

It's going to take some time. Unless they turn it around fast, which seems unlikely, they're not going to make the playoffs this year.

Every passing day the team fails to make itself better is a significant step behind in winning the Stanley Cup. Not much choice.

I don't understand why anyone thought the Sabres would do anything when Roy got hurt. All he is trying to do is keep people coming to the arena to watch the Sabres lose. If history repeats itself then the Sabres will play even worse now that a "core" player is out for the season.

He was also the one who got into a pissing match with Blueandyellow over the discussion about if the Sabres will do anything to replace Roy. Obviously Darcy has absolutely no plans to do anything except call up prospects from Portland

I don't think anyone can say for sure what Darcy's plans are.

I think it's kind of a dumb comment, but I don't know what else there is to say?

"We're screwed now..." I don't think you want a GM that's saying that either.

Lets just hope whoever they call up plays amazing.

What are our lines anyways? I've missed the past week so I'm lost on Sabres hockey right now.

Adam was already up. Mike Harrington had the practice lines as :

Ennis-Niedermayer-Vanek
Stafford-Hecht-Pominville
Gaustad-McCormick-Grier
Gerbe-Adam-Kaleta

Holy hell no centers.

I'd be more willing to put Ennis on the first line center and Adam as second line center, what happened to Connolly, has he been back yet or injured again?

That does not look good, but then again, not much does. I think I'd rather see:

Stafford - Adam - Vanek
Ennis - Hecht - Pominville
Gerbe - McCormick - Kaleta
Gaustad - Niedermayer - Grier

Ironically, the bottom three lines are my exact lines on NHL06 and they work awesome.

Still out after re-constructive nose surgery. Skating, but Darcy said he probably won't play this trip.

Can't Ennis play center?

Yeah, if these are actually the lines going forward, I'd say we've got a pretty decent chance at a very high draft pick,

and to be fair, I'd consider that "fun"...

Have Stafford-Hecht-Pommers skated together this year? sounds like an interesting line.
