As I mentioned in the Nov. predictions thread, the Sabres improved in Novemeber, but bascially need to pick up 3 out of every 5 in the remaining 57 games (with some OTL's) to secure a playoff spot. How will it go in December? 12/03 Columbus @ Buffalo 12/04 Buffalo @ Ottawa 12/07 Buffalo @ Boston 12/09 San Jose @ Buffalo 12/11 Pittsburgh @ Buffalo 12/15 Boston @ Buffalo 12/17 Buffalo @ Florida 12/18 Buffalo @ Tampa Bay 12/21 Anaheim @ Buffalo 12/23 Florida @ Buffalo 12/27 Buffalo @ Calgary 12/28 Buffalo @ Edmonton If you were wondering what the Sabres were getting for Christmas, there's your answer: Anaheim, Florida, Calgary & Edmonton! HO! HO! HO! |

8-3-1 is my extremely optimistic prediction. |

6-4-2 at best... a much poorer outcome more than likely at this point... but I'll stick with 6-4-2... |

4-7-1. Atleast they play Edmonton, Calgary and Florida x2 this month. Cause without those games this team doesn't win a single game in December IMHO. |

Interesting that you'll post a prediction thread, yet not give your prediction. |

It's a nice racket. Ask for predictions, don't give yours, then you can fit your narrative at the end of the month to fit the results. |

Now, lets get on with the Squanto and Slesh show for Trade/Signing names for the month of December. Maybe we should call our show something Piffy (nice play on that nutcase O'Reilly's show, eh? I'd like to keep it a monthly theme. A good Christmas title for our show this month might get the Junkie fan base interested Something like: The Sabres - Naughty or Nice. Or maybe: The Sabres Stocking, coal or toys? |

Or maybe: The Sabres Stocking, coal or toys? well get it started then.... Ive missed the last couple games due to the holidays and such... So has Connley been back? I liked what lil i saw out of Stuert.... how has Adam played? and if Connley was back, did he do anything or is he still screwing the pooch? Neids, I thought was working hard and a good gritty guy although a bit slow. Maybe a cleaned up knee will speed him up a touch... how much longer is he out? Hecht and Pommers I think need a C.... leave REV alone... has Patty been as consistent at what he does as he needs to be? I saw the killer hit clip against Toronto, but is he being consistent enough?.... And Stafford, any word on him? do we want him back at the expense of pushing Ennis to the bottom six? |

It's a nice racket. Ask for predictions, don't give yours, then you can fit your narrative at the end of the month to fit the results. Racket? Oh yeah, I'm cleaning up from these prediction threads! Geeeeeez, cynical much? Actually, if you read my prediciton threads from this and last month, you'll notice there was NO NARRATIVE at all by me---other than me just trying to be objective when stating the situation and soliciting responses. Go read them and tell me what my narrative was, seriously. To be honest, at the time I created both threads, I didn't have the time to sit and assess all the games individually and just wanted to put the thread up. But since you asked........ This team is pretty hard to read at this point, but if I had to guess, I'd say they'll take San Jose, one of the Florida games with the other an OTL, Anaheim, Edmonton, maybe Calgary and an OTL for one of the Bruins games. 5-5-2. Another .500 month. |

I think we can go 8-3-1. The Senators, Bruins, and Penguins will be problem clubs. 12/03 Columbus @ Buffalo W 12/04 Buffalo @ Ottawa L 12/07 Buffalo @ Boston L 12/09 San Jose @ Buffalo W 12/11 Pittsburgh @ Buffalo L-OT 12/15 Boston @ Buffalo L 12/17 Buffalo @ Florida W 12/18 Buffalo @ Tampa Bay W 12/21 Anaheim @ Buffalo W 12/23 Florida @ Buffalo W 12/27 Buffalo @ Calgary W 12/28 Buffalo @ Edmonton W |

If this was a horse race type bet, it would be the exacta. Just $2 will get you $60. By the way, I wish I could be as confident as everybody else about that Columbus game, but the Blue Jackets are playing well and have the 2nd best road record in the league at the moment. |
