Not a surprise after watching this team night in and night out, but... A sobering statistic -- Sabres are 29th out of 30th in league in scoring % (goals/shots) at 7.33%. This is despite being 5th in the league in shots per game. No finish is the storyline so far this year. Other teams at below 8%: Florida, Toronto, Nashville, NYI, and New Jersey. By comparison, teams above 10%: Colorado, Detroit, Philly, Washington, Vancouver, NYR, Minnesota, Dallas. All are comfortably in top half of conference except Minnesota. No finish = no playoffs.

Bottom line is they are getting glorious chances galore, but just can't put away their opportunities. What more can you ask from Lindy and the coaches? His system is putting them in position to succeed, it's up to the players to finish. And please don't tell me that their shots on goal may not be high quality chances because, anyone watching can clearly see this team has whiffed on way more than its share of great chances. This is all on the players.

But......but.......but......but we were top 10 or better in the league
in scoring the last 2 or 3 seasons...... :o

I think it's now painfully obvious to everyone that we need to acquire some scoring help. And soon.

Agreed. Losses against the Lightning, Penguins, and Canadiens would have been winnable if we had acquired a goal scorer. I do not care if you lead early in a game or trail behind late in the game, scoring one goal to stay pat will not win games. Our current players cannot be trusted because of their inconsistencies.

yup, with a real scorer in the lineup you have a big difference in the way this season will play out

We're stuck with what we have...I'd rather have a solid playmaker (Hemsky) to create a situation for our scorers to, well, score!

We're losing games due to special teams play.

Some of that has to be on Lindy.

Fire Brian McCutcheon. He was relieved of his duties in coaching the powerplay at the end of last season and I don't know why they gave him that position back.

If he'd agree to it, I'd immediately court Teppo Numminen as McCutcheon's special teams coach replacement.

It IS Lindy's fault when he tangles the lines in the most retarded way imaginable. Such as Ennis with Grier and Nieds, and Stuart with Vanek and Roy. He's been doing it all season.

He's been doing it his entire career as a coach.
