The Hockey News is reporting that Terry Pegula has signed a letter of intent to buy the Buffalo Sabres for $150M.

About that, but he assumed about $30M in debts as part of the price. Rumor is that most of that debt was forgiven, so he actually paid closer to $60M or so.

My guess is that after he looked at the books he determined the team isn't worth 170 million, and that BTG agrees.

Ken Campbell being interviewed on WGR right now. His feeling is that that this deal could be completed within the next 4-6 weeks, and doesn't feel that there are any major hurdles in the way.

He's been cagey. He's never said that he was actively trying to sell the team, but has said that if the right offer came along, and he could make sure the team stayed in Buffalo, that he would consider it.
