I'll preface this by saying that I am not now, nor have I ever been a Larry Quinn fan. Personally, I agree with Rene Robert that a non-hockey guy has no business trying to play one. But I have to laugh when fans pile on the hate...especially when they think they could do a better job. The biggest criticism is that Quinn is not a "hockey guy." To borrow from Rene Robert... RR - Hey fans, what are your backgrounds? Fans - a Myriad of crap RR - Do you think I could do your jobs Fans - Prolly Not RR - So what makes you think you're hockey people? Fans - Well we've watched a lot of hockey... RR - I've traveled a lot...I've watched a lot of pilots...do you want me flying your plane? Fans - shit, we suck. |

I know I could do a better job. I've won 3 Stanley Cups in NHL 10 as a GM, make it four it you want to include the team I built that won it the year after I got fired. So there, I could be a Hockey guy. |

Larry Quinn doesn't have a position in hockey operations. He shouldn't be interfering in hockey decisions. The fact that he sticks his nose into things isn't defendable. |

Yeah, I don't have a debate with that at all. Just a little lashing out at the armchair GMs. It was mostly inspired by a thread on the old boards where if you're not lashing out at the organization for every little mistake, you're a cheerleader. |

I cant stand Quinn.... not saying I can do better... just saying take the Quinncuffs off Darcy!!!! Lets Darcy do what he does... And I dont think Quinn allows that... why I am so excited to have a HOCKEY owner who might let Darcy do what he does and maybe Darcy will return to his Doug Gilmore days form.... unless he has been to beaten into submission by Quinn.... |

I hate that argument, because fans have benchmarks to compare to. We may not know how to run a hockey team, but we can compare his performance to those of others around the league. Observe and draw conclusions. With the amount of time and money we each invest in our favorite teams, we reserve the right to be critics when we feel things are subpar. |

Get out. |

Quinn is a tricky character. Sure, he says he has confidence in Regier and Ruff, even when changes need to be made. Then, he says changes are always being made across the board, which we have not seen. Quinn can be more effective if he gave Regier a budget to work with and be proactive with Regier to make those necessary moves. |
