Of ALL the Sabres teams in the last 40 years, which one was the most worthy of the Cup?

'74-'75?
'98-'99?
'05-'06?
'06-'07?

Even though the "06-'07 team won the Prez Trophy, I think the '05-'06 team was better, given the rules/enforcement of the day.

I believe the 05-06 and 06-07 were even.

I feel like in the late stages of 06-07 the NHL's officiating had already started to go back on what they'd done to open up the game right after the lockout and it showed in every single one of the Sabres' playoff series. The Islanders and Rangers didn't have enough talent to beat the Sabres even when they were clutching/grabbing/obstructing, and the Senators did.

2000-2001 sabres. should they had peca that penguins series... they win in 6 and probably beat the devils in the ECF.

I think the 98-99 team. There were a lot of underrated players on that team. And it took one of the biggest jobbings in sports history for Dallas to beat us in 6.

05/06 seemed like the team most deserving to win but injuries got the best of us unfortunately.

Had we beaten Carolina, the cup was ours. 06/07 I don't think that team deserved to win the cup, it showed with their loss to Ottawa that team was not physical enough for a playoff run.

Never saw the other teams as 74/75 I wasn't born yet and I didn't really watch any hockey in 98/99.

74-75 team was beaten soundly by a better Philly team. Despite the "no goal" same thing applies to 98-99. 05-06 was playing their best hockey going into the playoffs and was a good team anyway. Only the injuries held them back. 06-07 was obviously good, but I could see a mile away that they were going to lose to Ottawa, and never would've beaten Anaheim either. I'd have to say 05-06, especially considering that the Western team was Edmonton.

74-75 team were my first real memories of child hood hockey fandom.
I loved that team. I used to run around with the stick my parents bought me and pretend I was Renee Robert.

98-99 didn't have enough offensive fire power, but they were really good defensively and had arguably the greatest goaltender in the history of the game.

The 05-06 and 06-07 teams had what it took. True injuries were the killer in 05-06, but the 06-07 squad could've beat Ottawa and Anahiem. 1 of these 2 years were the best in my memory that we could have won a cup.

05/06 we still would have won that series...if not for a certain Carrot Top look alike throwing the puck over the glass and giving the Canes that power play to swing all the momentum in their favor...

Now that fucking guy has a ring, and collects 7M+ a year to play 3rd pairing mins.

they had arguably the greatest goaltender ever to play the game, at the height of his career. as ive said so many times, hasek in that time period was the best the sport has ever seen, at any time, and will ever see. and its not even close. he simply dominated the sport, not just the position, from 96-99. it would be like albert pujols facing AA pitching for 3 seasons. its not even fair.

Fixed.

It's always been my contention that the Sabres play in the 2nd half of 05-06 & the first half of 06-07 was great. They didn't play as well leading up to the 07 playoffs. By the time they got to the Ottawa series, they looked like they didn't even belong in that round.
