With the team currently being well outside of playoff position (and unlikely to get into comfortable playoff position with a cushion), will Lindy ride Miller hard the rest of the way, or will Patty get his share of starts? Since the team is basically incapable of winning with Lalime in net (9 wins, 30 losses in his tenure), I think that any run we make to get back in the hunt could be tempered by an overworked Miller. |

I think Lindy's waiting for the team to string together a couple of solid performances in a row. Once we get 2 impressive wins in a row, I expect to see Lalime start the following game. At this point, the option is there to call up Enroth, too. If Lalime loses his next start, I think we can expect to see Jhonas called up the next time Miller needs some rest. |

This is kind of what Powerplayer did. |

I say you give Patty (or preferably Jhonas) the start every 5th game regardless and take your chances with a more rested Miller down the stretch. Ryan is great, but hasn't really been the type of goaltender who gets stronger as the season goes on. |

That's a pretty BS statement. whether or not he got fatigued or he just came down to earth, millers numbers did dip last season as it went on. he played alot of hockey, so my guess is he did get a little fatigued. granted, he started so high, there was no place to go but down, but numbers from last year are in favour of this theory, whether or not the two are related. |

Miller has played more than one season. Last year was understandable, but to say that he's historically a goalie that finishes weak is nonsense. |

I say ride Miller like a prize hooker. |

I think the stats support the fact that he does not get stronger as the season goes on, which is what I stated. Past 3 of 4 seasons he has finished with a lower save % and number of wins in the 2nd half of his season compared to the first. Over those 4 seasons he has 13 more wins during the 1st half of his season compared with the 2nd half. This is not at all a knock on him being an excellent goaltender, but simply to point out that riding him hard now could be detrimental later on. |

Normally, what happens is that we ride him for the season, and then when we grab a spot in the playoffs, we generally can rest him a bit more before the playoffs start. Unfortunately, we don't have that luxury seeing the spot we're in right now. |

They aren't even remotely close to securing a playoff position. Miller will play every game he can handle, they don't have the luxury of not playing their best players. BTW I really HATE the way Ruff handles the goal-tenders in back to back games. |

I hate the way Lindy handles lines. Vanek, Roy and Nieds? Come the fuck on. Glad that didn't last long. |

Miller's already missed several games because of injuries, so he got some early rest that he usually doesn't get. He's a goalie who is always going to get the vast majority of the workload, regardless if we have a reliable backup or not. The Sabres are still trying to make up ground for their bad start, so it's likely we'll only see Lalime very sporadically. |
