Miller was good enough to win this game.
He made some key saves.

Defense played decent until Lindy gave them the ok to pinch in the 3rd.

At the end of this game (as in just about every game this season) it comes down to the down right putred offensive production of this team.

This Team needs an Enima offensively. And its more than ever now apparantly clear that no moves are to be made until the sale of the team. Most likely, all assets are to remain in place as per the purchase price agreed upon.

We all knew the playoffs were an outside chance, (AND I FULLY EXPECT TO GET FLAMED FOR THIS COMMENT BY MANY DIE HARDS) but now I'm hoping this team loses and big for the remainder of the season. We need offensive help and desperatly. No trade for offensive help this season can fix this rosters woes.

Look to the draft and off season acquisitions ladies and gentlemen, it is our only hope as a fan base.

Pfft, Miller was better than good enough. He was great. Which makes this loss more frustrating.

From a guy who bitches about having a losing culture (zero stanley cups), that's exactly what you're encouraging the Sabres to perpetuate.

Isn't your favorite saying something like "losers go home alone, winners go home with the girl?" Pretty sure winners don't ever lose on purpose, or encourage poor performances.

That having been said, Lindy needs to have Vanek around 20 minutes a game, every game.

If the draft were held today, we'd be picking 6th...

Ugh, I hate people who encourage tanking... A professional athlete would never lose on purpose. It's one of the many, many components that seperates a professional athlete from a fan. Fuck that pathetic bullshit.

Our only hope is acquiring players in the draft who will take several years to develop before they can crack the lineup and actually make a difference? Puhleeeezzeeee.

You really want to have the war of words, ok, lets lay it on the table.
This team isn't going home to fuck the prom queen, they're going home with the fat chick in the corner who wasn't asked to dance. Does that solve your dilemma with regards to my comments? Good.

Way to keep on top of it Seanothan, I've been following the overall order as well. I want a 4th or 5th, and we are in the range to.

Encouraging tanking? Hahahahahahaha, surely you jest......
Who in the hell is encouraging tanking, some of us are merely looking at the realities of the make up of the roster and its performance.
This team currenlty is not headed for the playoffs, they are headed for a top 10 pick. Once again, get over it, I've lived it for many, many, many years with this team. Live through the 80's then come talk to me.

Exactly, you are dead on correct with this comment, more than many know.

The rebuild has already started, but many fans refuse to acknowledge it.
The defense is already in a major transition and fully expect the offense to be addressed this draft and FA period.

What the fuck does that have to do with anything? I'm sick of old bitter fans who act like their sports teams "owe" them something. They don't owe you shit. Paying to go to games and wasting a Saturday night to watch a pathetic game is completely your prerogative. Are people supposed to pity you or something?? And what are you telling me to "get over", exactly? Get over yourself.

Was I not to assume that my comments directed towards looking to the future did not draw this reaction?
I see no other posts that could have, but hey, maybe I'm just that old bitter fan who reads things differently.

Really fly, thats your response? Of course I'm going to call you out on it.
You don't like being called out, then don't shoot out comments of that nature.

You saying that you hope the Sabres end up "losing big" for the rest of the season is basically the same thing as hoping they purposely tank so they get a higher draft pick.

I didn't mean to be a bitch to you specifcally, slesh, but I am soooo sick of hearing know-it-all fans actually believing that is an option. This is professional sports. No team is going to tank on purpose, and I think it's sad that some fans actually hope for their teams to do so.

And I am also sick and tired of hearing fans complain about how they've been watching their sports team for decades without any real success, and they act as if they are entitled because they have been watching them for so long. It's ridiculous.

And I don't mind when people call me out on something. Go ahead, I don't care. I can handle it.

Ok, this is better, and I now understand.
I'm hoping they get a bad record so we can get a higher end talent in here. I hope that clears up the "tanking" issue for you.
Teams do tank "on purpose". It's happened in the past. GM's pull players to ensure a position in the off season and so on.
No one is entitled to anything, but older sports fans who have followed a team or sport have seen a "repeat of history" so to speak. In short, they've seen it before. Actually, I listen to older fans, and for the most part, they are correct, by the way. I feel no differnet about myself. I used to be a season ticket holder. Now I just go to a few games a year, but regardless, I pay a fee for entertainment, I still expect to be entertained, is this not fair to you? If you know something I don't, let me know.

I'm glad you can handle it.

As for Miller, If you look at my OP, I clearly stated he played good enough to win this game. I wasn't calling him out, nor am I doing so for the entire weekends events. He was hung out to dry in Miami, this was plain for all to see. As for this game, he would have been like he was last season to win this game, hence the comment. Every player has better seasons than others, but Miller was clearly not the problem here this evening.

I did.

And you did, but regardless, It's painfully clear, I don't need to harp on the "tank situation" they are doing it all on their own just fine, and the team will be better for it offensively I am sure.
