Also, Kaleta was skating with the team this morning, as well.

Hoppe followed that up to say that Morrisonn will not play tomorrow.

That's fine. Let him rest another game, then take Butler out and insert Morrisonn.

Butler already came out for Rivet. :)

Is Weber up on an emergency basis? If so, he has to go back to Portland. If not, we need to swing a trade for a goal scoring C/RW.

Wow I don't think you can take Weber out of the lineup. He's been a monster and I'd hate to see the momentum he's built up get taken away from him.

If he, Butler, and Sekera all play well to the trade deadline, it is one of them or Rivet to be moved. I think my condifence in our younger defensemen will be satisfied this season.

I doubt any of them are moved unless we get a significant return on offense, which is unlikely.

If we've learned anything from the playoffs this decade, it's that you can't have too many NHL defensemen.

On the flip side, you can never have too many goal scorers.

The defensemen that you mentioned aren't worth anything substantial on offense.

You want another Dominic Moore or Raffi Torres?

Not worth it. Might as well keep them.

I want goal scorers, but not one that comes injured. Those acquisitions were the result of Dumbass Darcy not researching players thoroughly.

Those are the only types of players Darcy can grab, because the players he offers up are never worth anything more than a bag of pucks.

Who do you think the Sabres can bring in for Craig Rivet, who's been benched for much of this season? Same thing with Butler.

Nothing. We aren't getting any scorers for our D men.

Wrong, Darcy can bring in better quality players. He waits too long after the players we need have been dealt and spams the team with nonperformers who fly by night. This is why we need a better competent GM who acquires the right guys.

What great deadline trades has Darcy made:
2000: Dumont and Gilmour from Chicago for Grosek
2003: Briere from Phoenix for Gratton
2004: Grier from Washington for Klespis and first round pick

Rivet, with another player, a prospect and a draft pick, can bring us an upper echleon player and someone to paly in Portland.

That's Rivet, with another player, a prospect, and a draft pick.

Not just Rivet or Butler alone. Changing the scenario now.

I like to see Darcy make another Grosek-like trade. It can be done.
