Ryan Miller gave this game away after Sekera perfectly played that 4v4 2-on-1. This is on the American Hero's shoulders.

Screwball game for sure.

Miller wasn't sharp, but he had lots of company there in the first period.

Good second period comeback, but they again just couldn't bury chances in the third.

Another game where they don't play a full 60

A good team would have scored on one of the 3 PP in the 3rd to cap a win.

Side note: the longer Gollie waits to sell the team the less it's worth, imo. No playoff revenue, and payday for some free agent players. No cinderella stories on the horizon. Kassian and Adam will contribute, but probably won't dominate. I don't think this teams upside is real big, but is sustained merely by the loyalty of its fans.

I'm so damned sick of hearing from the players "We need to play a full 60 minutes" after these shit-tastic losses, and then them rarely if ever playing a full 60 minutes. It's not like it's dependent upon someone else for them to do their fucking jobs for a full 60 minutes, they control that! They point to it after a loss, but dont address it with their actions in subsequent games.
Screw the refs, Screw miller, Screw gerbe ennis and stafford for missing open nets. Screw me for wasting three hours watching this garbage.

Bill Hoppe says Derek Roy's injury is serious. I fucking hate being a Sabres fan.

It's a phrase that basically means, if you wanna see the Sabres at the top, turn the rankings.

Roy basically got hit a few yards from the boards and slid in knee first. Didn't look like there was a lot of twisting that would indicate ligament damage, but it was nasty nonetheless. Maybe a month of time missed? Hit looked clean to me, just an awkward fall.

First goal was just "one of those goals."
Second goal was on the 5 on 3 when Monty brainfarted and decided to crosscheck a guy instead of taking away the cross ice pass.
Third goal was an unassuming backhand that came as a result of the defense shitting the bed, but I really felt Miller should have been able to glove.
Fourth goal was a two on one break scored by a defenseman after Sekera took away the pass. Thought Miller should have gloved that one too.

I think Gerbe, Stafford, Ennis, and Niedermayer all missed on open nets.
Gerbe looked like he got tripped on his though.
Vanek had a good deflection in front stoned by Vokoun and got crosschecked into Vokoun on another play. One of those games by Vanek where he's in the right spots and nothing goes in. He got shafted on icetime in the first period because of the 20 PIM the sabres had.
Gaustad took a couple of dumb penalties, one of which led to the Panther's second goal.

A month or so? Swell. One more thing that's entirely different from last season - injuries.

That's just my guess. I'm not sure what he could have done except bruised it severely or potentially fractured something.

Roy got injured, and appears to be out for significant time.

Not bad for someone quickly approaching age 46.

The Sabres make me nervous. I don't like it when my teams linger on the outskirts of the playoffs. It's the worst place to be. Will they eventually turn it on and make a strong run late in the season to not only make the playoffs but build momentum at just the right time? Will they just miss making it in and get crappy draft picks? Will they tank for great draft picks?

I don't know, everything is possible. But scenario #1 seems like a pipe dream. :(

You do not tank for great draft picks. People that want to become the worst like the Islanders and Maple Leafs should respectfully root for that group of teams.

Two things need to happen.

1.) Ruff issues an ultimatum and let the players paly to decide their fate.

2.) New ownership takes over in January, cleans house, and quickly sets the tone to win.
