"Billionaire Terry Pegula appeared weeks away from purchasing the Sabres, but look for several prospective general managers to get their resumes in order in anticipation of him making major changes. Him assuming ownership has created a steady buzz across the league and beyond.

In a column two weeks ago, Rick Dudley, Don Luce, Jim Benning, Craig Patrick, Claude Loiselle, Jason Botterill, Mike Mudd and Pierre McGuire were listed among those who could become available and/or are interested. Feel free to add former Wild GM Doug Risebrough and former Regier underling Larry Carriere to the possibilities.

Sources last week said Sabres minority partner Dan DiPofi is likely headed for the exits whenever Pegula takes over. Managing partner Larry Quinn and Regier are expected to remain through a transition process before departing.

By all accounts, Pegula wants to surround himself with winners and knows keeping Regier would be perceived as accepting status quo mediocrity. Regier didn't know until afterward that the Sabres released a statement acknowledging Pegula's visit to HSBC Arena last week, which was troubling."

While I think a lot of signs point to Regier being let go, I don't trust that if it comes from Gleason.

pierre is just a little obnoxious to people. he points out obvious things in the game like hes the only one who understands it. he also gives interviews that are a little creepy, and just sometimes says the wrong thing at the wrong time, providing for some awkward moments. which to me is hilarious, so i like him.

hes just a little weird.

Will Ferrell is funny/weird too but I don't want him running my franchise either. Craig Patrick's glory days are over, I think he's too old school for todays game. I really respected him during his days in Pittsburgh, he would get mad a fans and speak angrily towards them lol. Just wanted to win so bad, and he loved his players, took everything said about them to heart.

As far as McGuire is concerned, he also homes for Canadian teams, specifically the leafs, and is almost always wrong.

Ferrell is funny, I don't pine over his humor like some obsessed fan but he's definitely funny. The SNL fake commercial where he's the guy trying to sell instructional videos on how to verbally abuse your dog with a sense of irony? Christ I couldn't even get through typing that without laughing.

Just Google Pierre McGuire+creepy....the videos are many and ridiculous. Aside from the creepiness, I hate his commentating, I hate his voice and I hate his turtle like face. Just don't like the guy I guess.
