Every single step of the way, a media report has come out about the sale, and every single time someone official like has denied it. No reason to get jacked up. Rule # 1 in PR is to deny everything. It could mean that the sale isn't on the agenda TODAY, and they wouldn't be lying. It's stuff like this that just makes me want this done already. |

At this point as long as he's in for the Draft with all staff changes made, I'm happy. There's no way he fixes this team this season. I hope it gets done, but I am not surprised with this news. |

gggrrr... just get it done... its not on the agenda today... get it on the agenda tomm. then... come on NHL and BTG and TP... finish the due diligence... cross the T's and dot the i's... Like mentioned above, I don't expect the team fixed this year... And maybe not even next year... BUT get Terry in place, let him make whatever moves he needs to and the sooner he gets in, the sooner he gets a handle on the situation and what he believes needs to be done!!! Get it done guys!!! And thanks for the update Phil... keep us up to speed |

Yeah, I gotta agree with those talking about this season. There will be lags before any possible changes made will have an effect. Even if the sale went through today, it would be some time before we see any possible results. Now that it looks like the sale won't go through as soon as was thought, we're looking at even longer before the results make their way to the ice. |

Eh, whatever. When you're buying a professional sports franchise for $175 million, I can only imagine that all the legalities and details take a little bit to get sorted out. |

It is likely speculation with that kind of media. At best, some behind the door mention will be made during the ASG meetings. That is how it goes. |

Meh, it's Twitter, it's not like it's that reliable. I won't believe it until the time goes and passes. |

It wasn't some random schmoe on Twitter. It was the WGRZ Twitter account, who then put the story on their website, and on their news broadcasts. I think it's safe to say that the information is reliable. |

Skyline_BNR34 wrote: And WGR hasn't been wrong before? Accuracy and reliability are different things. The report may not be totally accurate. Maybe the Channel 2 reporter was intentionality lied to, or provided disinformation. That's one thing. However, if Channel 2 put it on their Twitter page / web site / broadcast, we can clearly say it's reliable. Someone from the NHL did talk to Channel 2, and did tell them what they reported. |

Let's also be reminded of the amount of reliable people who have confirmed twitter accounts: Pierre LeBrun, Darren Dreger, TSN, Bob MacKenzie, Adam Schefter. Even some of the PLAYERS use confirmed twitter accounts. |

I know that, but I'm just saying. It may be reliable, but may not be accurate. It's the media, we all know how many times the media is wrong, so until it happens, we always need to take the media with a grain of salt. |

However, like Squanto said, accuracy does not equal reliability. While you may take media worth for a grain of salt, it's unfortunately the only thing we have to go on most of the time. They're the ones with the inside sources. |
