Byron will play for Pat Kaleta on Friday.

Id be willing to bet that someone else gets scratched, I don't necessarily think this is going to result in a trade, it might, but I think the veterans we are going to dump are going to get traded at the deadline.

Would they make a trade decision just before a sale? I mean....would Quinn and Darcy be allowed to do it right now or would Pegula be able to do it before everything is announced and final?

Who knows. Maybe they've been spoken to.

I just find it weird that today is the first day that everyone is healthy and on the ice, and the Sabres recall Byron.

Might just to help fill out the roster or to give Lindy the chance to move some muscle into Kaleta's spot and pop Byron into another hole.

Quote:
Ruff said Kaleta will not play Friday against Pittsburgh because he cannot handle the puck. Center Paul Byron was recalled from Portland after recording points in his first two games.

But, who knows. Something may be in the wind, maybe not...

Plenty of reasons why they could have done this that don't involve a trade.

There's a plethora, huh? A cornucopia?

It's pretty unlike the Sabres to recall a forward from the AHL when they have NHL manpower to fill in.

Now that I know Kaleta's out, it makes sense. Beyond that, I don't know why they'd recall Byron.

Connolly still has some issues with his hip, Vanek was sick and still has his finger injury. I guess this is a call up just in case someone is unable to play

Except when they did exactly that a couple weeks ago when Adam was called up and sat in the press box for a couple games.

And that was because one of our forwards was questionable to play, and if he wasn't ready to go, we didn't have an NHL forward to fill in.

Injuries or potential injuries are the only motivation this club has shown over the past few years to recall players from Portland.

Kaleta can't handle the puck anyway, who cares. Put him in.
