Might be something to do with his 42 hat tricks.

Or this...

In the Tampa Game he had 3 goals on 3 shots, and he scored his first 3 shots yesterday.

Anytime a player gets red hot like this entering a contract year, I always get to thinking how this could be the best hockey you will EVER see from the player. He might get 3.5 million/year and then never see another 20 goal season for the length of the deal. Sometimes I wish I wasn't so business minded and I could just enjoy the hockey and STFU.

This is his like 3rd 20 goal season in his young career actually. Or something like that.

He keeps this pace up next year also, I will be very glad about him.

Try 2nd in 5 seasons.

I love the way he's vying to beat out Vanek for top scorer on the team. That's gotta be a good thing for TV's game.

Stafford has four hat tricks this season. He has found his scoring side very well, a complete turnaround from last season. Get a point producing playmaking center to play with him and Vanek, and you will have a great scoring line going for awhile. If we still had Briere, imagine the VBS line, very bad shit.

Why can I not I see the image?

Also, good for him. I think our best bet would be to try and resign him before he gets some ridiculous offer sheet/arbitration award.

Try 2nd in 5 seasons.

Had he not been injured in 07-08, he could have had 20 goals, he had 16 in 64 games. It's not unrealistic to think he would have potted 4 more in 18 games.

I could have scored 20 the last year I played in high school had a couple breaks went my way. Too bad I only ended up with 4.

His number are his numbers. You don't get the benefit of doubt to modify them later based on maybes and presumptions.

thats why i typically go with "on pace" numbers to fill in the blanks left by injury and such.

16 in 64 is 1 goal every 4 games, he was on pace for 20.5 that year.

Better the both of you then?

Don't worry Squanto, I don't typically like to do the assumptions that much either. But I wanted to try and make Stafford better than he was then. :p

I just don't like to extend a scoring pace and assume that it would continue though other games. Too many factors involved to just assume that would happen.

Oh I know. I like to see the results firsthand.

of course you cant rely on "on pace" but it sure as hell beats calling a guy who scores 7 goals in 14 games a half a goal per game scorer then a "7 goal scorer"
