Not bad if he works out. If he gets near 30 or 40 goals again I would call this trade a super win. If not, we just get connolly, but for 1 mill less a year.

I am ok with this, needs a change of scenery, its a good darcy move, maybe a guy that will thrive in a Ruff system... gives us some needed depth... as long as we didn't give up the farm... His asking price is far less of that than Hemsky and Penner, but he’s also a bigger gamble. Boyes scored 43 goals in 07-08, and 33 in 08-09, but has not eclipsed the 20 goal mark since. He could potentially be a 40 goal scorer again, but he is not a legitimate superstar, he is only as good as the players around him. Boyes would provide depth scoring, but will not change the make up of this current roster. The Blues will require a 2nd round pick, and a mid ranged prospect to acquire him." |

Now lets not get carried away here, guys. Yes, it's sort of a big trade for a decent player, and this is exciting because we're actually doing shit at the deadline, but this isn't a very big team changing move. Nice deal, though. |

I like this. We're used to giving up second rounders for people like Torres and Moore. Boyes is much better than both of them. |
