Late to the party on this, but I read all kinds of people talking about how Boyes and Connolly would have this chemistry because they played together in the O. I needed to take a break today, so I looked.

Connolly
1998-99 Erie Otters OHL GP:46

Boyes
1998-99 Erie Otters OHL GP:5

They at best played 5 games together 12 years ago.

Think it's safe to say that the angle was overblown.

He's busy doing two things on the old boards.

1. Copy/pasting the same complaints about Gaustad and Lindy every 5 days.

Perhaps they both share a love for peeing on hookers? Technically, that's as close as chemistry can get!

I want Vanek and Boyes on the same line, but i'm a patient man. Ruff is a player's coach. I trust him to do what's in the best interest of the team and his players. And he's not one of those set in his ways kind of predictable coaches, he's made good changes despite wins and smart keeps despite losses.

From where I'm sitting this is what the team should become by playoff time:

Vanek-Boyes-Pominville
Ennis-Hecht-Stafford
Kaleta-Gausted-Gerbe
Connolly-McCormick-Grier

Neidermeyer-Ellis

I don't understand how playing in highschool together would give them chemistry. Players change.

His results certainly have, but I recall a rather nice scoring chance vs. the Penguins that he helped create for himself. Flower was better that time.

With Vanek and Hecht back I'm sure he'll have even more chances tonight.
