After getting the wind knocked out of him, Ryan Miller thought he was trading goal posts for ring posts. The New York Islanders may as well have been Jimmy Snuka of the Fiji Islands. "Just a good old-fashioned WWF knee drop to the back," Miller said after his night of wrestling in the crease. Buffalo Sabres fans howled for several goaltender interference calls Friday when the Isles visited HSBC Arena. They got one when Tim Jackman sat on Miller, which resulted in a pummeling by Paul Gaustad, who rushed to his goaltender's aid. http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/story/831900.html This quote from Miller is pure gold: "I don't have Scott Gomez's picture up at my house, staring at it while I eat dinner, working up enough psychotic energy to go slash him in the throat. That's not the case." Seriously, Ryan? |

I know I tried my best to hurt Gomez's feelings with my aggressive letter writing campaign. Needless to say his feelings were hurt. |

That's pretty funny, but the goalies really do need to be protected better. Was it really too long ago for the NHL to remember Malarchuk? The simple fact that skates fly up in the air during these collisions should make the NHL think real hard about it. With two refs one should be watching around the puck and the other should be watching the mess around the crease. Forwards start getting away with too much and it will lead to brawls and/or injuries. |

It made me so, so, so happy when Gaustad beat the shit out of Jackman for that. As bad as it was, I somehow don't think last years team would've done that. Very refreshing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-WwGmYrRdA Bash his stupid face in!

Gaustad pounded him pretty damn good with those uppercuts. Man, Jackman's head was being whiplashed straight back...Goose was piiiiiiiisssssed. I loved it. MOAH! sez I....MOAH!!! Funny thing was, Richard Park was about to get all "indignant" on Gaustad, but backed off pretty damn fast. ...musta seen "the demon" in his eye. |

The Goose didn't even wait for Jackman to get up from the crease, he picked him up and just started pounding him. It was amazing. I remember watching it and there was a little girl against the glass, probably around the age of 2, watching with the biggest smile on her face! Atta girl. |

That fight was awesome. Goose had fire in his eyes and a look on his face that, personally, I wouldn't want to see coming at me... |

Someday, Miller is gonna snap. And the rink will run red with the blood of his enemies. |

I have 2 words that solve all of these problems Cody McCormick, we go out and get a legit 4th line player, who can play the role of tough guy / enforcer, and let him rot in Portland while Dan Paille, Adam Mair, and Matt Ellis all get roster spots? How many more times must Miller be a victim before we call on the services of our enforcer? |

How many more times must Miller be a victim before we call on the services of our enforcer? Goose seemed to handle it pretty well... And if anyone else tires to pull anything, we also have the likes of Ellis, Montador, Rivet, and Myers, who will surprise you with some extra physical play as the season goes on. Plus, Stafford isn't afraid to jump in on anybody, Butler will do what he has to. Grier will do that job as well. We're fine. |
