Per GR right now.

I see this as a good thing, we've got an overabundance of forwards and he's been the odd man out.

This sucks. Why would we trade Paille? Not a good move, IMHO.

Doesn't seem that bad to me. He doesn't seem to fit in right now...I'd rather keep Kennedy up here than play Paille, would rather have Ellis in the lineup as well.

He's making $1.3 million this year, I think his cap hit is $1.1 million. We don't exactly have a lot of cap space, this at least frees up opportunities later in the season.

Agreed, Also he was showing some energy in the game he played in on the top line, but IMHO, this has been a long time coming for him. He never quite developed the way a 1st round pick should have.

I would have gone for a 2nd and 5th round pick though.

This is a great move. We got a 3rd rounder for a guy that's been a healthy scratch all year.

Look paille is 26 years old, and never came around. His best season was playing 2nd line minutes and he had 35 points. He's just not what he's supposed to be.

He was a 1st round pick, 20th overall, and never developed into anything more than a 4th liner. He's a bust.

I'm glad we got something for him in all honesty, and it opens up 1.1M in cap space to make a move later on down the road.

Great move Darcy, now call up McCormick!

I just got the text for this and screamed out of shock. My suitemate ran into the room all, "What happened?! You never scream!" lol

Good enough. I figured he was on the short list of players we'd be trying to trade.

Good job Darcy, glad to see some early trading activity. Although this probably only to compensate for what's not going to happen at the trade deadline though.

Or maybe this is a sign of things to come, and management wants to actually win and will do what it take to do it.

One can only be left to wonder.

So, with this trade now done, what does our draft selections per round look like for next year?
1st, 2nd, 2x3rd, 2x4th, 5th......and so on, is this correct, or is there some picks I am missing or picks the team has traded away for the 2010 draft?

I wonder how Paille will fit in up there. Like what line will he be on, or will they send him to the minors, or have him as a healthy scratch. In any case, best of luck to him. If they do play him, he'll fit in good with their physical style of play.

I'd rather have Ovechkin than Hecht. Apples to oranges.

Another Sabre killer is born, and to a conference foe. We really didn't have room for him, but it would have been nice to send him west!

I hope he scores the winner versus the Sabres when they play Boston.

Not a fan of the move.

You have bums like Mair and Hecht still on the team and you trade Paille who is better than both.
