1-0 Sabres, Pattymouth buried one of What About Bob's? fat rebounds for the GW.

Miller was a wall not to be effed with.

Gaustad and Connolly played particularly awesome but really it was a strong team effort by everybody.

3 odd man rushes as a result from poor Montador reads. Not the time of the season to start squeaking out mind farts, I'd bench him for Leopold over anybody else right now.

Myers was unreal, I really enjoy watching him play, even his bad penalties are fun to watch! lol

Mad props to the PK, too many gutsy plays to talk about them all.

As expected the Sabres had the better legs and the better game plan, and if Miller stays this sharp (oh he will...) then the Sabres will win or be in every game in this series.

Keep playing Sabres hockey.

I think you forgot to mention Grag's I thought he played really well. Real smart passing and pretty strong in his own end.

I don't want the rookie to get cocky, lol

He has the most animate facial expressions of anybody that I have ever seen shoot a puck, he's all about the exhale on the follow through, and that probably helps his aim. I've been very impressed with his play, and there is no way he gets taken out of that line up. I haven't seen such stoic defensive poise from an NHL rookie since I watched Jordan Staal enter the league as an 18 year old. Play Grags, and sign the hell out of him in the summer.

Yeah, the PK was outstanding. Kept Philly to the outside. Denied entries and recovery. Made good clears. Even killed the 5 on 3. Miller was a wall, and when the puck was laying in the crease the Sabres did a great job collapsing and not allowing the Flyers at it.

Patty Kaleta made the most of his ice time.

They need to clean up the turnovers and penalties, and focus on working in Philly's end more. But a real solid defensive game. I hope Miller is in their heads.

I like Grags more every game he plays.

I love Myers calmness with the puck on his stick. Very much remeniscent of Teppo Numminen. His decisions aren't always the best, but he's learning. And he's playing through adversity, which will only make him better.

I know, it's crazy how he reminds us of skilled puck rushing defense men when he's got a physique like that. That's kind of scary.

Anyone also notice how good Niedermayer played tonight? I thought he had more intensity in his game and his decisions were as good as you'd expect out of this kind of veteran. He wasn't as good as Kaleta or Goose, but he's exactly what I wanted him to be. Same goes for Grier. Those two are playoffs guys.

And Butler has been rock solid since he got back in the lineup. Over 26 minutes tonight.

Yeah, he's got that calm veteran swagger that was missing from last seasons team. His Cup experience will be a huge asset, especially in the later rounds. ;)

I noticed that too. Butler sat his ass down, and that was it.

Surprising, because I watched JVR play at UNH when I went to school there, and he had a lot more battle than that. He just took it tonight, and pouted.

I wonder what's going on in that Philly locker room.

Yeah, I was pleased with both Nieds and Grier. They looked better than they have all season. I'm starting to think that Butler might be regaining his rookie form. Anyone remember that year, when Butler was just about the only bright spot?

They want to enjoy a long off-season, they want to get drunk, golf, smoke crack, and probably butt reem each other or whatever it is that they do in that wretched hive of scum and villainy called Philladelphia. Soon their dream will be realized.

Don't lose focus, he's a Flyer now. Let the hate flow.

Oh I've got no shortage of hate for the Philadelphia Flyers.

But you know what? As crazy as that game was, I didn't lose my cool once. I just kept thinking the whole time that we had it, and the boys did their jobs and got it done.

When the Sabres are that focused on taking care of business, how can they lose?

The thing about Miller tonight - he just played so smart. Read every play beautifully. Great positioning. Didn't need to make spectacular saves because he never got caught far enough away from the puck and the D cleaned up the loose trash behind and around him.

But man, they gotta generate more chances and get more offensive zone time. Can't count on Philly putting up too many goose eggs.

I was quietly freaking out. I know the Sabres can come back from any deficit with any amount of time to work with, but they are just so good with a lead. Everybody plays a little more chill and with a little more swagger.

Miller's play was awesome, he's so cool and confident.

The Flyers played well defensively but their goalie gave up a fat rebound too lose the game for them. And now the poor kid has a day off to think about that. If the Flyers open it up, the Sabres will DEVOUR Bobrvosky, or whatever the eff his name is. And if they continue to play it a tight checking game, What About Bob is going to crack before Miller does. Bet your mortgage on that. Add in fatigue from a short summer and the Sabres should be ready to beat these jagoffs up some more on saturday. And when they beg for mercy? Sweep the leg. ;)
