Kunitz got one game for elbowing a Tampa Bay player the other night (Gagne I think). It was a blind side type of hit but no real injury. Should Richards get a game based on the major penalty called or because Kunitz got a game for elbowing also? I'm guessing he won't because 1) Richards wasn't going at someone, he was getting checked and 2) it was Kaleta on the receiving end. Those factors shouldn't necessarily be part of the equation, but I think they're likely marked categories on Campbell's random suspension spin-o-wheel. I say no suspension. |

who knows. my guess is he gets nothing, because its the playoffs and they dont wanna take out a teams better for a borderline play. |

i don't care whether you're getting checked or you're headhunting. the second you stick your elbow out, it's intent to injure and you should be suspended. an elbow is a freaking WEAPON, and anyone who's ever run into one will tell you so. yeah, some of you think i want to have my cake and eat it too, but i've never said an elbow was clean and i never will. i wouldn't care if it was richards or if it was thomas vanek. keep your goddamn elbows in or get suspended. |

Yeah, I'm down with this logic. Should he? Yes sir. But will he? Not a chance. |

I think he would and should get suspended for a game or two if it were the regular season. In the playoffs I highly doubt it will happen even though he should get one game. I just refuse to believe that the Flyers could be down both Carter and Richards for game five. I even think if Carter is definitely out that Campbell would take that into consideration in not suspending Richards. |

Well that logic did not stop the Campbell the Just from suspending the Penguins best forward for a game, despite bing without 2 super stars already due to injuries. And he should not have, because injuries should not matter at all. What Kunitz did was worse, but and elbow is an elbow and a game is a game. How in the world could they justify not suspending him after a 5 minute major elbow? |

I can agree with the majority here. Should he be gone for at least a game? Yes. Will he be gone? They'll find some reason as to not suspend him for the elbow. Also, they'll look at his past record, as the league happens to do as of late when handing out suspensions. And since he doesn’t talk to Bettman and Co. as often as say, Matt Cooke, we can expect him in game 5. But that is fine, I'm sure Patty’ll drive him infuckingsane again and make him take a retarded penalty, again. |

My logic is simply that the Sabres never have bounces that fortunate go their way. |

He'll get suspended. He has to, if the NHL doesn't suspend him that means they are allowing elbows to the head. Kunitz got a game and all he got in the game was a 2 minute elbowing penalty, not a five, Richards will get one game also. |

FWIW, the Kunitz elbow was blind side skating into the player, the Richards elbow was standing still while the player came straight at him. It shouldn't matter, but with Buffalo involved I just don't think it will go their way. |

Should Timmonen get a game for giving a ball shot to Gerbe? Yes. |

I agree that the circumstances of the 2 elbows is very different, but they ARE both Elbows. You can't justify saying Richards was less dangerous based on his history and the on ice ruling. If this was the regular season he would get more than a game, but I suppose they will go easy because its the playoffs and only rule 1 game. no games and i will be shocked and pissed |

i'm usually right in predicting the suspensions and i don't think you'll see richards gone. |

The league may not be out to get the Sabres, but for a couple of seasons after Miller called out the referees for being chodes, the Sabres magically never managed to get goaltender interference calls to go their way. Hmm. |
