Sekera was playing with a strained abdomen and had to get injections to play. Somehow he's still playing for Slovakia, or so I've heard. |

It's when he sat out so long. They publicly admitted to his bruised collarbone. He just admitted the concussion is what really kept him out. |

Vanek isn't allowed to play for Austria at the WHC because of a lingering finger problem. So says the official facebook fan page. It never fails to amaze me at this time of the year when you wonder what could have been hampering a player’s ability to compete and then the truth comes out. It's like, whoa. |

So he accepted his invitation but the physical kept him out. Bummer. Glad he'll heal up though. |

Apparently it's the same injury he had around the Allstar Game and he never really got rid of it. Sucks for Austria. Vanek would have played in the WC therefore I don't think it's really an injury, the Sabres just won't take the risk. |

Vanek would have played in the WC therefore I don't think it's really an injury, the Sabres just won't take the risk. yeah, likely just the team telling him to cool his jets for the spring/summer and rest up. lol, reminds me of the part in the Don Cherry movie, "Keep your head up, kid" when the Bruins tell him not to play baseball after the season was over and to heal up because they had big plans for him. He played baseball anyway and separated his shoulder needing surgery right before training camp. |

Pommers was reported the other day as having torn tendons that required surgery. Connolly, who knows. He apparently ducked the media today, so they're all butthurt about it. |

I lol'd at Connolly ducking the media. Emerged from restricted area, saw media at his stall, went back into restricted area. Also, Kaleta did confirm his broken hand. Happened on the PK. Cue the ZOMG PK IS SAH DANGEROUS folks. |

Monty & Grier both saying they'd like to finish their careers in Buffalo. Grier says if he plays next season, it’s in Buffalo.
