Per Bill Hoppe, Glenn Healy said during the Bruins/Bolts game that the Sabres have made Kevin Dineen available to other teams for coaching job interviews. Sucks he'll probably be on his way out of the system, he's got a body of work that demands NHL attention. |

Damn man, he's done some real nice work with the kids in Portland the last few seasons. That, coupled with his playing experience, I dare say he'll get picked up in no time. |

Well then, do we have any candidates to fill his soon-to-be-empty position? What's Randy Cunnyworth doing these days? |

All the news outlets in Rochester are speculating that the Sabres will end up being affiliated with the Amerks and ditch Portland. I don't know where the story came from or who cooked it up, but this story with Dineen will only fuel the idea. |

Well, the Sabres have been very coy about Portland and Regier's comments are really ambiguous. Plus the new guy in the organization's job is to regionalize the Sabres, and part of that is expanding back into Rochester. |

I just thought it was a story that was cooked up because the Rochester sports guys aren't always the greatest. If it were true, I'd be going to a lot of Amerks games. |

Well, I can't say that they will ditch Portland, but it certainly seems possible. Let's say, I wouldn't be surprised either way with what happened. |

The Sabres won't even consider Rochester again until their Portland deal runs out. Anything else is just the hopeful Rochester media. |

That's my belief but ya never know. I prefer Portland if only for the reason that I have an excuse to go to Maine now |

Unsurprising. He's a great coach. I used to go to the hockey camps he put on in Glens Falls when I was younger. |

I'd love to have our AHL team in NYS...it wouldn't matter what city (Albany or Adirondack???) which won't happen in the new future but its good for boys to dream. |

If the Sabres' farm team was Adirondack, I'd be in heaven. |

It would be cool if Rochester and the Sabres would become affiliates again. It obviously makes it convenient for call ups and such, but it's also easy and fun for fans to take a day trip to check out the prospects. |

Darren Dreger Reported that the Panthers may have an interest about a month ago. i can't find the original article but here is some website that has the post. "Some believe this is the year Portland Pirates head coach Kevin Dineen makes the jump and have linked Florida among the NHL teams interested. Panthers general manager Dale Tallon won’t confirm nor deny the speculation and says his plan is to wait until the end of the postseason before making his decisions." http://crashthecrease.com/2011/05/02/mu ... ch-devils/ I would not be against the Sabres hiring Dean Blais as the new coach of the Pirates if, Dineen were to get an NHL Job. http://www.omavs.com/staff.aspx?staff=174 http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=556507 http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdis ... p?pid=8341 |

I remember that bit from Dreger...it was from one of the Dreger Report posts. I'd also support Dean Blais coaching the Pirates. My guess is they'll just promote Eric Weinrich if Dineen gets a job elsewhere. Sent from my Droid X using Tapatalk |
