Brian McCutcheon sacked, Kevyn Adams and Mike Foligno at the top of the list to replace him.

I don't know why this didn't happen immediately after he was relieved of his duties coaching the powerplay last season. But hell, I've been praying for this for a while now so I'm very happy.

So there's this dickhead Sabres blogger who said he had sources last week, maybe two weeks ago, saying this would happen.

Tonight he said that it'll be Adams replacing McCutcheon with the Sabres and Foligno coaching Portchester. Let's see if he goes 2/2.

I'm sure it is. I heard this earlier today (The Kaleta Dice Roll, I know) and almost posted here, but the only link I saw was like Buffalo wins or something.

I %100 agree with this move.

Question though... Isn't Foligno currently under contract with the Ducks as an assistant bench boss? Regardless, I'd love to see him behind our bench. Especially with his & Marcus’ tenure in Sudbury in recent years.

Slim chance that Marcus cracks the big club this year, just looking down the road when he does get the call.

It's a good idea to shake up the coaching staff, without doing a major overhaul. If he was in charge of the power play, then I think they did the right thing. I hope they hire a good replacement!

NIce to see Pegula & Black staying busy with the team since being kncoked out of the playoffs. I honestly think it'll be our best summer in years...

Randy Cunneyworth. right now hes the coach of Hamilton in the AHL but im sure he could finagle his way out of that somehow.

Whoever it is, I hope they bring some life to the power play.

I wasn't aware that finishing tied for 8th in the league on the power play counted as 'lifeless'.

Yeah, the PP finished fairly well this season, but I guess McCutcheon didn't have much to do with it anymore. Patrick (I think) has pretty much made him obsolete. That's one aspect of this team that I really wish I knew more detail about - how certain coaching duties are assigned and handled. I wonder what the new coach will be responsible for.

This is true. McCutcheon has allegedly removed of PP duties at one point of the year, but it was later reported he got them back, so who knows.

I'm not sad to see McCutcheon go, although I was pretty indifferent to him. I just had to refute this notion that the Sabres had such a terrible power play last season when they in fact did not.

Now I want to see what the PP can do with some more talent or vet savy at the blue line.

I'm with ya - I've been curious forever how duties are divided amongst the coaches. That's one thing I like about the NFL - every coach is clearly identified by role.

I'm stoked. Our PP was just embarassing at points throughout the season.
